Aityvert Solar Powered Motion LED Light Review

Aityvert Solar Motion LED Light Review

I live in an area of town without a lot of light in the evenings and at night, so parts of my yard can get pretty dark. To make the exterior of my home a little more useable at night, I have been installing a number of solar motion lights. I love solar lights because I do not have to run new wiring for electricity. Therefore, when recently offered the chance to review a solar powered motion LED light from Aityvert in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity.

Price and Design

One Aityvert solar motion LED light currently costs $16.99 on Amazon. I have another almost identical light from another brand that cost $2 less. Designed with a waterproof, heatproof, and durable black or white plastic to withstand years of wet and windy weather, the light includes a powerful lithium-ion rechargeable battery that provides up to twelve hours of illumination on a full charge. The unit measures approximately 5.5 inches by 4.2 inches by 2.2 inches. When motion occurs in the sensor zone, the bright white light (160 lumens) produced by the sixteen LED bulbs activates. The light remains on for 30 seconds after motion ceases and then returns to dim. The package comes with the light and battery, two screws and wall plugs, and user manual.

Performance

As with my other Aityvert solar motion LED light, installing the 2200mAh was incredibility easy. The light includes two holes along the top to easily hang the light on a vertical surface with the two included screws. I installed mine on the northeast corner of my garage roof. I used a screwdriver and drill and quickly installed the screws into the easement. (I also first used a nail and hammer to punch holes through the metal flashing on the easement.) Although the light faces north, the solar panel still receives plenty of sunlight most of the day. I thus rate the ease-of-installment of the Aityvert solar powered motion LED light extremely highly.

Operating the solar motion light is just as easy as installation. To switch between off and on (dim to bright when motion detected), I simply pressed the button on the front of the light next to the motion sensor to toggle the on/off switch. I was able to easily and quickly switch the light on and off even after I had installed the unit on my easement. I therefore rate the Aityvert solar powered motion LED light extremely highly in terms of use. My only complaint, which is extremely minor, is that the only lighting option is dim to bright. While I like that I can have a little bit of light that gets brighter after the detection of motion, I would love to also have the option of off to bright as well.

I have had problems with past motion solar lights that I have purchased for my yard and have returned a few because the problems were so bad. So far I have not had any problems with my solar motion light from Aityvert. I first allowed the solar panel to charge in the sun for three days before testing the lights. The light is hung at ten feet above the ground, and it turns on as soon as I walk within about ten feet of the sensor. The light then remains bright for approximately thirty seconds after I walk away. The dim light also turns on automatically at dusk. The sixteen LED bulbs are very bright despite the small size of the unit. I personally prefer LED bulbs because even the smallest bulbs pack quite the optical punch. I will also update my review during the winter months of the year when the sun shines fewer hours during the day. I am excited to see if my Aityvert powered solar motion LED light continues to work as well during shorter daylight hours.

Final Verdict

If you are shopping for a small solar powered motion light for the exterior of your house, I definitely recommend the Aityvert solar powered motion LED light. The durable plastic light easily mounts to a vertical surface with the included screws and withstands all types of wet, warm, and windy weather. The top-mounted solar panel produces bright and longer working hours for the sixteen LED bulbs, the sensor triggers the lights when motion occurs within a 10-foot range and a 120-degree angle. Both installation and use of the light is incredibly easy. The bright white LED bulbs glow dim and then change to bright upon detecting motion to light up the night. I am quite happy with the performance of my solar powered motion LED light from Aityvert.
