Baby Sign Language: Sweet Potato

Sweet potatoes are a great first food for babies. Teach your baby the sign for the word sweet potato in baby sign language with the following description and video.

Sweet Potato

First sign the word sweet. Form the hand into the signed letter H of the fingerspelling alphabet. Point the index and middle fingers straight and held together. Hold the thumb parallel to the fingers. Rest the other two fingers on the palm. Stroke the chin between the fingers and thumb twice. Then sign the word for potato. Form one hand into a fist held at chest level. Form the other hand into a first with the index and middle fingers formed into a claw. Touch the index and middle fingers to the back of the fist.
