While nursing my daughter for two and a half years, I often found myself searching for a comfortable nursing bra. The time period right after her birth was especially trying because I was new to breastfeeding and leaking milk all over the place. Because I knew that I wanted to breastfeed my second child as well, I began the search for a new comfortable nursing bra during my pregnancy. During my search, I came across The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra from The Dairy Fairy, which received rave reviews from my fellow bloggers. I was thus extremely excited to review my own Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra.
The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra from The Dairy Fairy is a racerback wrap sleep bra with hidden pockets to keep breast pads securely in place. Pull aside nursing panels allow for quick and easy access to the breast. Made from made from nylon lycra and spandex, the material is soft and stretchy enough to grow and shrink with the breasts throughout the night. The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra is available in extra small, small, medium, large, and extra large sizes, which fit women as small as 32 A to as large as 42G. The bra comes in two colors: blush (pink with white trim) and white (white with black trim).
The Dairy Fairy currently sells The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra for $42.00 each. Compared to other brands of sleep nursing bras, The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra is priced slightly higher. However, I consider the comfort and quality well worth the slightly higher price tag.
I have never been a perky supporter of bras. Whenever I can get away without wearing one, I do. However, while breastfeeding, I must wear a bra when I leave the house to prevent embarrassing leaks. And now that I am nursing my son, I can honestly say that The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra is one of the more comfortable nursing bras in my collection.
Before my pregnancy with my daughter, I preferred underwire bras. However, during my first pregnancy through now breastfeeding my son, I found that underwires pressed into my breasts painfully. Unfortunately, finding a bra without an underwire is often an arduous task. Underwires are especially bad for breastfeeding moms because of the potential for blocked milk ducts, yet so many nursing bras still have underwires. Thus, the first feature that drew me to The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra is the lack of underwire.
However, just because The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra lacks an underwire does not mean that the bra does not offer adequate support. Depending on the particular bra, I wear a 32D, 34C, or 36B bra size. My cup size also changes throughout my breastfeeding journey and from hour to hour. I really love the stretchy material of The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra, which gives and takes as I grow and shrink.
Based on both my pre-pregnancy and my pregnancy bra size, I chose the small size of The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra. I have now been wearing the bra for a little over two weeks after the birth of my son. The straps fit over my shoulders perfectly without the hassle of adjustable straps. The band is snug but not too tight. The cups also provide me with adequate support and coverage. All of my average-sized nursing pads fit comfortably in the cups. And, although The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra is marketed as a sleep bra, I prefer to wear mine during the day. The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra is perfect for nighttime while still offering enough support throughout the day.
In addition to providing me with comfortable breast support, The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra is also incredibly easy to maneuver while breastfeeding. When my son is ready to eat, I simply pull one cup of the bra to the side. I can even gain access to a breast one-handed. My son has no problems nursing while I am wearing this bra. I therefore rate The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra extremely highly in terms of comfort and function.
The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra is also a very pretty bra. When I first started breastfeeding my daughter almost three years ago, I noticed a definite lack of pretty nursing bras on the market. More bra makers have started offering colors and prints other than black, white, and nude, so I definitely appreciate the simple beauty of The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra. The black lace trim around the white makes for a pretty and sexy nursing bra. I definitely do not feel like just a dowdy dairy cow in my Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra!
Of all my nursing bras, The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra is my current favorite. The flexible material offers the support that I need as my breasts grow and shrink rapidly at the beginning of my second breastfeeding journey. The bra is easy to use when nursing my son, allowing for quick access to each breast. At $42.00 each, The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra is slightly more expensive than other sleep bras, but the comfort and function of the bra are well worth the price. If you are searching for a cute and comfortable sleep nursing bra, I highly recommend The Josie Sleep’in Beauty Bra from The Dairy Fairy.
