ecoAble Cloth Diaper Pail Liner Review

In addition to writing The Parenting Patch, I also read a number of other blogs, many of which include reviews of cloth diapers and cloth diapering accessories. After reading a review of the ecoAble all-in-one at Mommy’s Favorite Things, I contacted the brand about reviewing a product. I ultimately chose an ecoAble cloth diaper pail liner to test and review.

ecoAble

Price

The ecoAble cloth diaper pail liner currently retails for $13.50. Compared to other similar pail liners, most of which measure smaller than the ecoAble, I consider the price an absolute bargain. I honestly wish that I had not purchased some of my smaller pail liners prior to learning about the ecoAble brand because the ecoAble pail liner is larger but less expensive. I therefore rate the price extremely highly.

Prints

I received the Farm print, which features red barns, green tractors, cows, chickens, and chicks on a white background. The ecoAble brand also offers the reusable cloth diaper pail liner in Cars, Safari, and Spaceship prints. Compared to many other brands, the selection of prints at ecoAble is a bit limited. However, the price, size, and quality all outweigh the limited selection, especially because pail liners are usually not on display like cloth diapers are.

Design

The ecoAble cloth diaper pail liner consists of a water-resistant polyurethane coated material (PUL) that contains moisture and messes from wet and dirty diapers. Generous sizing makes the bag compatible with many types of diaper pails up to 13 gallons including my lidded garbage can, and stretch-to-fit elastic keeps the pail liner securely in place.

The ecoAble cloth diaper pail liner measures approximately 27 inches tall with a circumference of 54 inches, making the bag considerably larger than the majority currently available on the market. (My son measured approximately 26 inches in the photo.) The ecoAble website states that the bag can hold between 20 and 25 diapers.

Laundering

As with any new cloth diapering accessory that I introduce into my stash, my only requirement for laundering is that the new product must fit into my current laundry routine. On laundry day, I empty the dirty diapers from my ecoAble cloth diaper pail liner into my washing machine and then toss in the bag. I use a warm wash with detergent and OxiClean followed by two cold rinses. Once the second rinse finishes, I hang the pail liner on my drying rack in front of a fan to dry. I do recommend pouring out any remaining water that becomes trapped inside the bag during the rinse cycle before hanging to dry. All in all, I find washing the ecoAble cloth diaper pail liner extremely easy.

Performance

I have purchased and sewn a number of pail liners in the past, but I honestly wish that I had more ecoAble cloth diaper pail liners in my stash. I am most excited about the generous size combined with the reasonable price. I paid slightly more for a similar pail liner that fits only a 5 gallon garbage can. Because I wash my diaper laundry on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, my dirty diapers usually fill up at least one wet bag over the weekend. With two kids in diapers, I filled up two or three smaller bags. My ecoAble cloth diaper pail liner, however, holds all my weekend diapers with room to spare!

In addition to the size, I love the quality of the ecoAble cloth diaper pail liner. The PUL is quite thick and appears high quality. I have not noticed any wear or tear to the material after multiple washings. The elastic is also stretchy and strong. Most importantly, the pail liner keeps moisture in as promised. For messy diaper changes, I clean my son with cloth wipes that I rinse with water at my bathroom. I can toss sopping wet cloths along with wet and dirty diapers into the ecoAble cloth diaper pail liner without worrying about moisture seeping through into my diaper pail. I therefore rate the pail liner extremely highly in terms of performance.

Final Verdict

If you are shopping for a new cloth diaper pail liner, I cannot recommend the ecoAble cloth diaper pail liner more highly. At just $13.50 each, the bag is extremely affordable. Plus, compared to other similar wet bags, the ecoAble pail liner offers a larger-than-average size that fits a 13 gallon garbage can. Over the weekend, I can use just the one bag instead of two or three of my smaller ones. Most importantly, the PUL is high quality and contains the moisture from the wettest diapers and cloth wipes. I highly recommend the ecoAble cloth diaper pail liner for any cloth diaper stash!
