Have you heard of ecoAble? After reading a review of the ecoAble all-in-one at Mommy’s Favorite Things, I contacted the brand about reviewing a product. In addition to the cloth diaper pail liner that I reviewed two weeks ago, I also received an ecoAble wet/dry cloth diaper pail bag to try.
Price
The ecoAble wet/dry cloth diaper pail bag currently retails for $17.50. Compared to other similar hanging wet bags, most of which measure smaller than the ecoAble, I consider the price an absolute bargain. Plus, the entire bag consists of waterproof PUL, making both zippered sections extremely versatile. I therefore rate the price extremely highly.
Prints
I received the Spacechip print, which features blue rocket ships, yellow moons, and orange planets on a navy blue background. The ecoAble brand also offers the wet/dry cloth diaper pail bag in a few other prints. Compared to many other brands, the selection of prints at ecoAble is a bit limited. However, the price, size, and quality all outweigh the limited selection.
Design
The ecoAble wet/dry cloth diaper pail bag consists of a water-resistant polyurethane coated material (PUL) that contains moisture and messes from wet and dirty diapers. Generous sizing of 16 inches wide by 27 inches tall allows the hanging wet bag to hold between 20 and 25 diapers. (My son measured approximately 26 inches in the photo.) The diaper fits inside a medium garbage pail or hangs on a door knob or hook to save space.
Laundering
As I state time and time again, I am lazy in the laundry room. Any new cloth diapering accessory that I introduce into my stash must fit into my current wash routine. On laundry day, I empty the dirty diapers from my ecoAble wet/dry cloth diaper pail bag into my washing machine and then toss the bag in. I use a warm wash with detergent and OxiClean followed by two cold rinses. Once the second rinse finishes, I hang the pail liner on my drying rack in front of a fan to dry. I do recommend pouring out any remaining water that becomes trapped inside the bag during the rinse cycle before hanging to dry. Overall, I find washing the ecoAble wet/dry cloth diaper pail bag extremely easy.
Performance
I currently own a few hanging wet bags as well as a few wet/dry bags, but none compare to the ecoAble wet/dry cloth diaper pail bag. As with the ecoAble cloth diaper pail liner, I am most excited about the generous size as well as the reasonable price of the ecoAble wet/dry cloth diaper pail bag. Compared to my other wet/dry bags, the ecoAble bag is considerably larger and thus holds many more dirty diapers. I currently wash my diaper laundry on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, so I typically fill up at least one, if not two, wet bags over the weekend. The ecoAble wet/dry cloth diaper pail bag, however, holds all my weekend diapers with room to spare!
In addition to cloth diapers, the two zippered PUL compartments of the ecoAble wet/dry cloth diaper pail bag are perfect for swim gear. I take my kids to the gym for swimming once a week. I can use the wet/dry bag for our swimming suits and towels, both before and after swimming. I especially love that the bag keeps wet items securely separate from dry items. I never have to worry about wet diapers or swimsuits leaking onto dry towels and clothes.
Like with the ecoAble cloth diaper pail liner, I love the quality of the wet/dry cloth diaper pail bag. The PUL is quite thick and appears very high quality. I have not noticed any wear or tear to the material after multiple uses and washings. The zippers have also held up without any wear and tear, which I cannot say for some of the other zippered wet bags in my stash. Most importantly, the pail liner keeps moisture in as promised. For messy diaper changes, I clean my son with cloth wipes that I rinse with water at my bathroom. I can toss sopping wet wipes along with wet and dirty diapers into the wet/dry cloth diaper pail bag without worrying about moisture seeping through into my diaper pail or onto my bedroom door. I therefore rate the pail liner extremely highly in terms of performance.
Final Verdict
If you are searching for a new wet/dry bag, I recommend the ecoAble wet/dry cloth diaper pail bag extremely highly. Priced at just $17.50 each, the bag is extremely affordable. Compared to other similar zippered bags, the ecoAble wet/dry bag offers a larger-than-average size as well as two water-resistant PUL compartments that make the bag perfect for cloth diapers as well as other items such as swim gear. Over the weekend, I can use just the one bag instead of two or three of my smaller ones. Most importantly, the PUL is high quality and contains the moisture from the wettest diapers and cloth wipes. The zippers are also high quality. I highly recommend the ecoAble wet/dry cloth diaper pail bag for any cloth diaper stash!
