Gross Motor Skill Development: Poppy Spins and Dances

Poppy Dancing

My toddler daughter loves to dance. She also loves to spin around in circles. The other night while relaxing after work, I put on my 90s pop station on Pandora. The first song that played was “The One” by the Backstreet Boys. When I was a teenager, I was in love with the Backstreet Boys. So I was very pleased when my daughter immediately began rocking out to the song. She then continued to dance for the entire rest of the song!

Watching my toddler daughter dance around my living room, I grabbed my phone and finally managed to get a video of her dancing. I must admit that even I am impressed by all the spinning. I know that I would get dizzy and fall down. She just spins and spins, occasionally stopping to get her balance again.

Without further ado, her is my amazing daughter dancing and spinning to the Backstreet Boys.

Do your children like to dance? Are you impressed by all the spinning?
