Pot of Gold Rainbow Paper Plate Craft

Pot of Gold Rainbow Paper Plate Craft

My kids and I love making homemade crafts for each holiday of the year. Previously my daughter and I made a pot of gold the end of a handprint rainbow for St. Patrick’s Day. This year, my toddler son also got in on the crafting fun, making his own rainbow while my daughter made hers.

Materials

Directions

  1. Cut the paper plate in half.
  2. Cut an arch out of the center of the plate half.
  3. Cut the red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple construction paper into small squares.
  4. Glue squares of each color in arches around the plate half starting with the red on the outside edge.
  5. Glue cotton balls on each end of the arch.
  6. Cut a half circle from the black paper.
  7. Glue the flat edge of the black half circle to the back of one end of the arch.
  8. Glue pennies to the front of the black half circle.
  9. Display the pot of gold rainbow paper plate craft.

What a cute project. I used to love to do things like that with my daughter when she was little. Ones like this were my favorite because they helped teach colors and improve fine motor skills.

My kids are too old for this but I wanted to comment how adorable I thought this was. The pennies on that end are most definitely the selling point. 🙂
