Crescent Boat Picture

Objective: To learn about the shape crescent (moon)

Message: Crescents are circles with a piece missing. Crescent is another name for moon.

Fine Motor Skills: SCEW page 8

Gross Motor Skills: Baking crescent rolls. Preschoolers can help by taking the crescent roll dough out of the refrigerator, rolling the dough into crescents, and placing the rolls on a baking sheet.

Craft/Activity: Crescent Pictures

Materials

  • Construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Crayons

Directions

  1. Cut some construction paper into crescents.
  2. Glue a crescent onto another piece of paper.
  3. Use crayons to fill in the rest of the picture. Examples include using a crescent as a boat and drawing in the sail and water, using a crescent as a moon and drawing in the rest of the night sky, and using a crescent as a smile or frown and drawing in the rest of a face.
