Gross Motor Skills: Take a walk and look for stop signs. Count the number of sides on the stop sign to illustrate that a stop sign is an octagon and that an octagon has eight sides.
Craft/Activity: Octagon Monsters (http://www.allkidsnetwork.com/crafts/shapes/octagon-shape-monster.asp)
Materials
- Construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Directions
- Cut out a large octagon from the construction paper.
- Cut out smaller shapes for arms, legs, eyes, mouth, and hair. Use as many octagons as possible.
- Glue the smaller shapes onto the large octagon.
