Pumpkin Biscuits Recipe


  • 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons of packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1 15 ounce can of pumpkin puree


  1. Preheat the oven to 400°.
  2. Combine the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Cut the cold butter into thin slices.
  4. Work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles cornmeal.
  5. Add the pumpkin. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  6. Roll the dough onto a floured surface until 1/2 inch thick.
  7. Cut the dough into 2 inch biscuits.
  8. Place the biscuits onto a greased baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
  10. Serve warm.
  11. Store any uneaten pumpkin biscuits in an airtight container.
