PumpkinStore Jar, Bottle, and Can Opener Review

PumpkinStore Jar, Bottle, and Can Opener Review

As I prepare meals for my family, I end up opening a lot of jars, cans, and bottles. Now that I have started using glass jars with lids to can fresh produce from my garden, I find myself opening even more! Nothing is worse than a lid that is stuck on tight to a bottle or jar. When recently offered the chance to review a jar, bottle, and can opener from PumpkinStore in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity. The opener currently costs $6.95 on Amazon with a list price of $16.99.

The PumpkinStore jar, bottle, and can opener makes opening vacuum sealed jar lids of various sizes easy and eliminates the risk of damaging glass jars. Made with superior-quality food-grade dark blue and white polypropylene and rubber, the opener features indentations that provide a firm, non-slip grip for the hands. The long handle provides sufficient leverages and reduces the amount of effort needed to open a lid. The sleek design fits easily into a kitchen drawer without occupying much space. PumpkinStore offers a 100% risk-free satisfaction guarantee.

Until recently, I would tap around the edge of stubborn lids with a butter knife to help release the seal. The method is loud and can potentially result in broken glass. I was thus super excited to receive my new jar, bottle, and can opener from PumpkinStore. I was even more excited to discover that the opener works on almost any sized can, jar, or bottle. To use the opener, place one of the circular openings around the lid, grip the end of the opener, and then squeeze and twist the opener to remove the lid. The rubber and polypropylene are also dishwasher safe in case you accidentally spill on the opener.

I found that the jar, bottle, and can opener from PumpkinStore worked well on most small and medium sized lids. I easily opened jam and pickle jars and dressing bottles. However, I did find that the opener did not work very well, if at all, on my largest jars such as my large mason jars. While I did get the large opening around the lid, the grip was so tight that I could not use the opener to unscrew the lid. Fortunately, most of the lids in my kitchen are small to medium sized. Overall I am happy with my new PumpkinStore opener and recommend one to anyone who no longer wants to use the tap method on most sized jars and bottles.
