When I first switched to cloth diapers at the end of March, I decided to use Dreft laundry detergent to wash the dirty diapers. For the past five months, I have been using Dreft without any problems. I did strip my Best Bottom inserts once with a mixture of hot water, hydrogen peroxide, vinegar, and baking soda. I also striped an overnight diaper that had gotten covered with diaper cream using Dawn dish soap. However, for the most part, I have not done anything special in terms of washing my diapers other than using no more than a tablespoon of Dreft.
Today, however, I decided to order some Rockin’ Green Laundry Detergent to try. Many of my fellow cloth diapering parents swear by Rockin’ Green. After doing a little research, I determined that the cheapest way to buy some Rockin’ Green Laundry Detergent to try was to buy directly from the Rockin’ Green website. In order to get the best bargain for my money, I opted for the Classic Rock – 90/180 Loads Remix, which is a bundle of two bags of the laundry detergent for $26.95. A single bag sells for $14.95, so I was already saving $2.95.
After doing a quick Google search for “Rockin’ Green coupon code,” I discovered that the code “militaryrocks” would save me 15%. I therefore saved another $4.04 on my order. By buying in bulk and using a coupon code, I essentially got the $5.95 for free with another $1.04 in savings. I live for combining coupons with sales, so this Rockin’ Green purchase was right up my alley on this Frugal Friday.
