T is for tiger! Help your toddler learn about the letter T by making a fun tiger handprint craft.
Materials
- Orange and black nontoxic paint
- Blank paper
- Paper plate or scrap cardboard
- Cotton ball
- Cotton swab or paintbrush
Instructions
- Pour some orange paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of orange paint on your child’s hand.
- Press the handprint into the center of the paper with the fingers pointing down.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of orange paint on your child’s palm.
- Press the palm print onto the handprint above the pinky finger.
- Wash the paint off your child’s palm.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of orange paint on your child’s fingertip.
- Press two fingertip prints onto the top of the palm print. Reapply the orange paint as needed.
- Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
- Pour some black paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of black paint on your child’s finger.
- Press black stripes onto the palm and fingers of the full handprint. Press three fingertip prints into the center of the palm print to form two eyes and a nose. Reapply the black paint as needed.
- Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
- Use a paintbrush to paint black whiskers onto the face of the tiger.
- Use a paintbrush to paint “T is for tiger” in black on the paper.
