T Is for Turtle Handprint Craft

T is for turtle! Help your toddler learn about the letter T by making a fun turtle handprint craft.

Materials

  • Green, dark green, and white nontoxic paint
  • Blank paper
  • Paper plate or scrap cardboard
  • Cotton ball
  • Cotton swab or paintbrush

Instructions

  1. Pour some green paint onto the cardboard.
  2. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of green paint on your child’s hand.
  3. Press the handprint with the fingers open onto the paper.
  4. Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
  5. Pour some dark green paint onto the cardboard.
  6. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of white paint on your child’s fingertip.
  7. Press dark green fingertip prints onto the palm of the green handprint. Reapply the paint as needed.
  8. Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
  9. Pour some white paint onto the cardboard.
  10. Use a paintbrush to paint a white dot in the center of the green thumbprint of the handprint.
  11. Use a paintbrush to paint “T is for turtle” in dark green on the paper.
