ActionFly LED Night Light with Sensor Review

ActionFly LED Night Light with Sensor Review

With two young children, I have a number of night lights plugged in around my house. Night lights are also great for adults at night because a small light means not needing to turn on a bright overhead light. My bathroom is one of the rooms in my house in which I keep a night light at all times. When my daughter or I need to potty in the middle of the night, we can quietly slip out of bed and into the bathroom without disturbing anyone else. Because of my use of night lights around the house, I eagerly accepted the chance to review an ActionFly LED night light with sensor in exchange for my honest opinion when recently offered the opportunity.

    Price

The ActionFly LED night light with sensor currently retails for $39.96 with a sale price of $10.99 on Amazon. I consider the sale price quite reasonable for an automatic sensor light. I also consider the price reasonable for an LED light. LEDs tend to last longer and require less power to operate than conventional bulbs. I thus rate the price of the LED night light with sensor from ActionFly positively.

    Design

The ActionFly LED night light with sensor requires three AA batteries (not included). The white plastic night light features an oval shape with two lights, one on each side, and a sensor in the middle. The automatic sensor operates with human body induction. The light activates when an individual enters within a range of ten feet of the sensor, which offers a range of 120 degrees. The light then shuts off fifteen seconds after an individual moves out of the sensor range. Installation is simple. The light comes with one 3M adhesive pad and a detachable back plate. Simply adhere the adhesive pad to the back plate and attach the light to a vertical surface. ActionFly offers an 18-month warranty against manufacturing defects.

    Performance

After careful consideration, I decided to mount my ActionFly LED night light with sensor on my bathroom wall between the bathtub and toilet. The light turns on as soon as I step into the bathroom but remains off when anyone walks down the hallway. I also considered placing the light on the wall across from the bathroom door. However, because the sensor activates the light when someone comes within ten feet, the light kept turning on whenever anyone walked down the hallway outside the bathroom. I love the sensitivity in the sensor of this night light. The light turns on each and every time someone walks within ten feet of the sensor. Once you leave the sensor range, the light turns off after fifteen seconds as promised. Some sensor lights that I have tried in the past did not have as good of sensors. I thus rate the sensor feature of the night light from ActionFly extremely positively.

The light of the ActionFly LED night light with sensor is a soft yellow that reminds me of a firefly. The light is bright enough to allow you to see around in the dark but not too bright to blind you. I have already made a few late night bathroom trips, and this night light allowed me to make my way to the toilet and back without flipping on any overhead lights. This yellow LED is perfect for anyone who walks around in the dark but wants a little light and is especially suitable for homes with children. My toddler son, who is a light afficiondo, also approves of the night light from ActionFly. Every time the light turns on when he is around, he points and says, “Ooh!” This light is both mom and toddler approved!

Mounting the ActionFly LED night light with sensor on my wall was incredibly easy. After I installed the batteries and selected my location, I cleaned both the back plate and my wall with a little rubbing alcohol. Once the alcohol dried, I attached the adhesive pad to the back plate. I finally attached the entire light to the wall. The 3M adhesive is strong, like all 3M adhesive, so I expect this night light to remain firmly attached in my bathroom for years to come. When I need to change the batteries in the light or turn the light on or off manually, I simply slide the light off the back plate, which is easy peasy!

Another nice feature of the ActionFly LED night light with sensor is that the light activates only in the dark. During the day when my bathroom is brightly lit through a window, the night light remains off. If I flip the overhead lights on, the night light also remains off. I love that this LED light activates only in the dark, which saves the batteries and thus saves me money.
