It’s the Balm by Organic Sunshine Love Scrubs and Natural Lip Balm Review

As a woman with sensitive skin, I am a fan of more natural skin care products. I have also found that natural ingredients such as shea butter and sweet almond oil moisturize my skin better than synthetic lotions. Thus, when Organic Sunshine recently offered me the chance to review the Love Scrubs kit from the It’s the Balm line, I eagerly accepted the opportunity.

I received a Love Scrubs kit, which includes four-ounce tubs of the Citrus Sugar Scrub, Toning Coffee Scrub, and Cooling Foot Scrub. The four-ounce version of the Love Scrubs kit currently costs $20. Love Scrubs is also available in two-ounce sizes for $16 and eight-ounce sizes for $30. I also received a tube of the Berry Lavender Kiss natural lip balm, which retails for $4.

Citrus Sugar Scrub

The Citrus Sugar Scrub offers a refreshing citrus scent from pure essential oil. Ingredients include organic cane sugar, organic coconut oil, organic unrefined shea butter, turbinado sugar, oil blend (safflower, sesame, jojoba, sunflower, olive, palm fatty acid, vitamins A and E), and essential oils. The mixture of course and fine grains of sugar gently exfoliate the skin while the oils hydrate, moisturize, soothe, and soften.

I have been using my Citrus Sugar Scrub on my lips and on my belly. With pregnancy often comes dry skin. With my current pregnancy, I have been battling extremely dry lips. Using the Citrus Sugar Scrub on my lips has helped with the dryness significantly. Plus, with the natural ingredients, I do not have to worry about getting a little inside my mouth. (Although the temptation to eat the citrus-y sugar is great!) I have also been using the scrub on my belly at the end of my shower each night. Unlike with my first pregnancy, the skin on my belly has remained extremely moisturized so far because of my use of the Citrus Sugar Scrub from It’s the Balm by Organic Sunshine.

If you are looking for a gentle sugar scrub with a light citrus scent, I highly recommend the Citrus Sugar Scrub. I especially recommend the scrub for use on the belly during pregnancy and on the lips.

Toning Coffee Scrub

I love the smell of coffee, so the Toning Coffee Scrub from Organic Sunshine is right up my olfactory alley. The Toning Coffee Scrub is made with natural caffeine, which is known to reduce the appearance of cellulite while tightening skin. Ingredients include organic unrefined shea butter, organic cane sugar, organic coconut oil, fair trade coffee, turbinado sugar, and coffee infused oil blend (safflower, sesame, jojoba, sunflower, olive, palm fatty acid, vitamins A and E).

When I first opened the Toning Coffee Scrub, I discovered a delicious coffee aroma. Because I do not have any cellulite at the moment, I have been using the scrub on my legs, my belly, and my hands. The combination of the sugar and the coffee grounds gently exfoliate my skin. The coffee offers a refreshing scent that leaves me feeling awake and alive. The oils provide my dry, sensitive skin with a boost of moisture.

If you too love the smell of coffee, I highly recommend the Toning Coffee Scrub from It’s the Balm. Organic Sunshine recommends the scrub for cellulite, but I personally love the hearty aroma and the moisturizing oils.

Cooling Foot Scrub

The Cooling Foot Scrub offers an invigorating peppermint-eucalyptus scent from pure essential oil. Ingredients include epsom salt, organic unrefined shea butter, organic coconut oil, natural sea salt, oil blend (safflower, sesame, jojoba, sunflower, olive, palm fatty acid, vitamins A and E), and essential oils.

I will admit that I have rough feet that require a lot of moisturizing. I also love pampering my feet with at-home pedicures. The salt grains in the Cooling Foot Scrub help exfoliate my feet, and the peppermint-eucalyptus invigorates my senses. In addition to my feet, I have also used the scrub on my legs after I shave to remove rough, dead skin and smooth any irritation.

If you enjoy pampering your feet, I highly recommend the Cooling Foot Scrub from It’s the Balm by Organic Sunshine.

Berry Lavender Kiss Natural Lip Balm

As I have previously written, I am an absolute lip balm addict. I was thus incredibly pleased to find a tube of Berry Lavender Kiss natural lip balm in my package from Organic Sunshine. Ingredients in the lip balm include organic beeswax, organic coconut oil, organic shea butter, sweet almond oil, organic raw honey, essential oil, vitamin E, and organic natural flavor oil.

I apply lip balm many times throughout the day. Because I have passed my addiction on to my daughter, I have tried my best to switch to more natural lip balms, so the natural lip balm from Organic Sunshine is perfect for me and my toddler. The flavor and scent is very light, leaving just a mild sweetness behind. The mix of moisturizing ingredients leaves my lips feeling soft and refreshed. I especially like applying the lip balm at night before I head to bed to keep my lips moisturized all night. The lip balm is also perfect to use after exfoliating with the Citrus Sugar Scrub.

If you are also a lip balm addict, I highly recommend the natural lip balm from Organic Sunshine. The flavor is mild but delicious, and the natural ingredients leave my lips feeling soft and supple.

Berry Lavender Kiss Natural Lip Balm

Final Verdict: For natural and homemade beauty products, I find the Love Scrubs kit and the Berry Lavender Kiss natural lip balm from Organic Sunshine reasonably priced at $20 for the kit and $4 for the lip balm. With natural ingredients such as shea butter and beeswax, I feel confident using the scrubs and lip balm on myself while pregnant and on my toddler daughter. All three of the scrubs leave my skin feeling exfoliated and moisturized. I especially like using the Citrus Sugar Scrub on my belly and lips, both of which bother me considerably during pregnancy. After using the scrub, I love putting on the delicious natural lip balm, which leaves my lips feeling moisturized through natural ingredients for hours. If you are shopping for more natural beauty products, I cannot recommend It’s the Balm by Organic Sunshine any more highly!
