Bump Baby & Beyond Nursing Cover for Breastfeeding Review

Bump Baby & Beyond Nursing Cover for Breastfeeding Review

I am a breastfeeding mother. I nursed my daughter for two and a half years, and I am still nursing my son at eighteen months with no ending in sight. I am also an adamant supporter of breastfeeding including public breastfeeding. To date, I have used a cover exactly once and only once while breastfeeding my babies in public, and my use of a cover was more to keep my daughter warm and asleep than to hide the fact that I was nursing her. However, I fully support the use of nursing covers if and when a breastfeeding mother chooses to use one. Thus, when Bump Baby & Beyond recently offered me the chance to review a nursing cover for breastfeeding, I eagerly accepted the opportunity. Having never used a cover myself, I was eager to finally try one!

Made from high quality 100% cotton that resists fading or loose threading, the nursing cover for breastfeeding from Bump Baby & Beyond features a rigid neckline that allows for ventilation and intimate eye contact while baby nurses. The design is also perfect for helping with latching issues. The neck strap uses a ring closure, which adjusts easily to leave your hands free. The cover comes with a free pouch to keep the material fresh, clean, and wrinkle-free and the neck wire in a good, bent position. The pouch fits easily into a diaper bag or purse, keeping your life more organized (or as organized as any mom can hope for). The front of the cover also features a handy pocket for storing breast pads, pacifiers, wipes, burp cloths, and more. Breastfeeding moms who choose to use a cover will feel more comfortable and unexposed when out and about with the Bump Baby & Beyond nursing cover! The cover also doubles as a car seat cover, changing mat, or stroller sunshade.

Performance

While I personally have never used a nursing cover in public, I have seen quite a few used by other moms. I was immediately impressed with the design of the nursing cover for breastfeeding from Bump Baby & Beyond. Putting the cover on was quick and easy. All I had to do was slip the neck strap through the rings and then tighten the strap to my desired length. The strap truly is easy to adjust. I found that I could tighten the strap with two hands and then loosen the strap with one hand, so I typically tightened the cover as much as possible and then loosened the strap once my son started nursing.

I really like the rigid neckline of the nursing cover for breastfeeding from Bump Baby & Beyond. Unlike with a regular blanket, I can still see my son while he nurses when I use this cover. He can look up at me too, so he does not feel trapped beneath a stuffy blanket. I can talk to him and easily check on him while he eats, which is a huge plus for me. One reason that I never used a cover is that I like to interact with my babies as much as possible. For a mom who chooses to use a cover, the Bump Baby & Beyond cover allows her to maintain contact with her baby while covering up.

Because the nursing cover for breastfeeding from Bump Baby & Beyond is made from cotton, the fabric is both absorbent and easy to wash. The cover doubles as a wipe cloth when needed or as a changing pad for on-the-go. Washing the cover is easy. I simply tossed the dirty cover in my washer with a little bit of detergent. I then allowed the clean cover to air dry in front of a fan. The material still looks perfect, and the flower pattern has not faded at all. I am most impressed that the rigid neckline holds up in the wash and still looks like new.

Finally, while the nursing cover for breastfeeding from Bump Baby & Beyond currently comes in only one print, I really like the big and bold flower pattern. The background is blue, making this cover feminine but not overly girly. The flower print also feels a little vintage to me, which I absolutely adore. I feel like my mom or my grandmother could have bought this cover years ago just as easily as I can today. I also love the handy pocket on the front, which is a nice addition that I never would have thought of!

Made from high quality 100% cotton, this cover features a rigid neckline that allows for ventilation and intimate eye contact while baby nurses. Putting on and adjusting the cover is quick and easy.
