Chalkmaster Liquid Chalk Markers Review

Chalkmaster Liquid Chalk Markers Review

I love making crafts with my kids. I also love decorating my home for each season or holiday. In the past, I have occasionally used wet- or dry-erase markers on my bathroom mirror to write a fun message or create a neat drawing for an upcoming special day. Thus, when recently offered the chance to review an eight-pack of Chalkmaster liquid chalk markers from US Art Supply in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity to add to my craft supplies.

Price

Chalkmaster liquid chalk markers currently retail for $11.96 on Amazon. Most other brands of liquid chalk markers cost roughly the same price. A few brands cost a little less while many cost a little more. I therefore rate the current price positively.

US Art Supply is the leading supplier of art supplies on Amazon and ranks at the top of most art supply product categories, so purchase the eight-pack of neon Chalkmaster liquid chalk markers with confidence and a 100% lifetime satisfaction guarantee. Each of the eight artist-quality chalk markers contains a full eight grams of high-quality concentrated bright neon ink in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, and white. The unique six millimeter reversible chisel to bullet point tips provide exceptional writing quality and make creating both fine and bold lines easy. The eight-pack comes with two free additional reversible tips, which allow you to extend the life of the markers. The premium artist quality fiber nibs are made in Japan.

Conforming to ASTM D4236 and EN71-3 certifications for art products, the Chalkmaster liquid chalk markers are non-toxic, water-based, and safe for children over the age of 3. Unlike traditional chalk, liquid chalk is dust free and excellent for any non-porous surface such as glass, mirrors, windows, plastic, metal, glossy and LED boards, whiteboard, chalkboard stickers, chalkboard contact paper, cards, and so much more. Do not use on porous surfaces like painted chalkboards and walls, an always test a small area before use. The markers easily wipe clean with a damp cloth.

Performance

Preparing the Chalkmaster liquid chalk markers for first use is incredibly easy. Start by gently pressing the tip of the marker into the barrel to release pressure. Then recap the marker and gently shake. After shaking gently, open the lid and press down on the tip for a few seconds until the tip becomes evenly saturated with ink. The liquid chalk marker is then ready to use. Preparing all eight markers for use took me only a matter of minutes. I therefore rate set-up very highly.

Using the Chalkmaster liquid chalk markers is equally easy. I have a large mirror in my bathroom that I like to write on for holidays. The six millimeter reversible tips makes creating my designs and messages a breeze. The chisel tip is great for drawing and coloring in large areas while the bullet point tip is perfect for cleanly writing messages. Switching the tips is as easy as pulling the tip out with the barrel of the marker held upright, flipping the tip over, and then putting the tip back in the marker. The neon colors are very bright, and the eight-pack offers me all the colors that I need. I have been having a lot of fun creating fun messages on my bathroom mirror each day!

Cleaning up the Chalkmaster liquid chalk markers from non-porous surfaces is very easy too. When I clean off my bathroom mirror, I can use a dry tissue. To clean off larger areas more quickly, I can use a damp cloth. The markers clean up quickly and easily without leaving any residue. Do make sure to spot test a small, inconspicuous area before using these markers to make sure the ink does come off cleanly. Overall, I rate the clean-up of these liquid chalk markers very highly.

Although not recommend for porous surfaces, I did try my Chalkmaster liquid chalk markers on some construction paper. I have always liked to mix mediums, and I loved the result of the liquid chalk on the paper. The ink dried very quickly and left an interesting finish. I will definitely use these markers on paper as I make crafts with my kids. While recommended for non-porous surfaces, liquid chalk markers make for a fun addition to paper crafts as well.
