‘Christmas for a Kitten’ Book Review

'Christmas for a Kitten' Book Review

I checked out the most heartwarming children’s book from library the other day: Christmas for a Kitten by Robin Pulver with illustrations by Layne Johnson. Another patron had returned the book, and the painting on the cover caught my attention.

Christmas for a Kitten is about the struggles of a kitten to find a warm home after being catnapped from his mother. At first I was saddened by the storyline. However, by the end of the tale, I was glad that I had picked up the book. The beginning may be a little sad, but the end absolutely tickled me pink. A surprise visit by Santa Claus makes this book a perfect read during Christmastime.

Young children will love reading Christmas for a Kitten, especially around the holiday season. I will be sure to check this book out again when Poppy is a little older.

My favorite part of this book, however, is not just the story. I also love the illustrations. Painted by Layne Johnson, the pictures are both whimsical and realistic. My favorite is the painting of the kitten outside a home decorated for the Christmas holidays.

The Verdict: Christmas for a Kitten by Robin Pulver is a must-read book for December!
