Cymas Knife Sharpener Review

Cymas Knife Sharpener Review

I cook many meals for my family each week. I also prepare foods like pickles, apple butter, fruit and vegetable purees, and more. With all my cooking, I use a lot of knives each day. In fact, I currently own two stainless steel and two ceramic knife sets. With any knife, use leads to dulling. I hate working with dull knives, so I end up sharpening my sets quite often. Thus, when recently offered the chance to review a knife sharpener for ceramic and steel knives from Cymas in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity.

The knife sharpener from Cymas currents costs $12.99 on Amazon with a list price of $19.99. Constructed with a combination of solid ABS rubber and stainless steel, the three-stage design features a ceramic slot for ceramic knives, a course slot for sharpening dull or blunt blades, and a fine slot for smoothing edges to razor sharpness. The five-inch ergonomic handle keeps hands safely away from the moving blade, and fingerprint grooves fit the fingers well, offering a comfortable and tight grip. An EVA non-slip base with mesh pattern design ensures that the sharpener will not move easily throughout the sharpening process, preventing accidental injuries.

I am quite pleased with my new knife sharpener for ceramic and steel knives from Cymas. I had a couple of dull knives in my knife holder, so I was able to start testing the sharpener right away. First, I really like the design of this unit. I can place the sharpener flat on my counter and hold onto the ergonomic handle without having to worry about accidentally cutting or poking my hand. The mesh rubber bottom prevents the unit from slipping around, further preventing injuries. I am quite accident prone, so any tool that helps protect me from myself is perfect for this klutzy mama!

In addition to the design and safety features, I love that I can sharpen both my stainless steel and my ceramic knives with one sharpener. My stainless steel blades, in particular, get dull rather quickly. The course slot allows me to sharpen my dullest blades and then the fine slot allows me to hone each edge to razor sharpness. I can easily and quickly sharpen my knives, even in the middle of cooking. Overall, I have no complaints about my Cymas knife sharpener and recommend one to anyone shopping for a new kitchen sharpener.
