Display Your Memories with MeshCanvas from Printage

I love hanging photos of my beautiful children around my house. Two corners of my living room are dedicated to each of my child, and I need to move some other pictures from the third corner into the hallway soon. The biggest downside of hanging traditional photos in frames is the need for nails in the walls. Hung pictures can also fall off quite easily (especially with my two wild children running around). Thus, when recently offered the chance to review MeshCanvas from Printage in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity.

About MeshCanvas

Unlike traditional photo prints, MeshCanvas allows you to turn your images into hanging wall art. Made with a unique, heavy-duty, lightweight, dent-resistant, and scratch-resistant material, the boards consist of extruded polystyrene foam bonded between two layers of wood-fiber veneer topped with art gallery paper. Each 0.75-inch photo board comes with four adhesive squares to attach the image to your wall, and the squares can be removed and reattached up to ten times on most hard, non-delaminating wall surfaces. Removal and adjustment are incredibly simple, requiring only a slight twist. MeshCanvas is the easiest way to decorate your home without screws, nails, or tools.

MeshCanvas comes in two shapes: square (8 inches by 8 inches) and rectangle (8 inches by 12 inches). For the rectangle shape, choose from landscape or portrait alignment. You can also combine either shape into three-print spreads: square (8 inches by 24 inches), portrait (12 inches by 24 inches), and landscape (8 inches by 36 inches). With the three-print layouts, you can turn your favorite photographs into beautiful panoramic art creations. Frameless MeshCanvas is a beautiful and easy way to organize and display your favorite photographic memories.

Create your MeshCanvas masterpieces using the universal Printage app on your desktop or mobile device. The app works with Android on Google and across iPads and iPhones that run on iOS7+. Printage is available for free for iPad and iPhone in the App Store, for Android in Google Play, and for desktop on the Printage website. Three prints currently cost $46 with free shipping. Additional prints in the same order cost only $10 each.

Evaluation

Creating my MeshCanvas boards was incredibly easy. I opened the desktop version of the Printage website and clicked on the MeshCanvas option. I then uploaded my photos and cropped the images to the desired sizes and shapes. I chose to create two portrait rectangles — one of each of my two children — and a landscape rectangle of both of my kiddos together. After adding a minimum of three MeshCanvas prints to my cart, I checked out using PayPal. I placed my order on Friday, and my package arrived on the following Wednesday. The creation process was super easy, and shipping was incredibly fast for a personalized item. The current pricing is a bit more than I would normally pay for an 8 by 12 photo, but I love that I do not have to buy or hang a frame, so $15 or less is not terribly above my budget. Plus I am always won over by free shipping!

When my MeshCanvas prints arrived, I removed the plastic shipping bag from the cardboard box and discovered my three prints packaged neatly in separate plastic baggies, which prevented damaged to the photos during shipping. The four adhesive squares came pre-attached to the backs of the prints. I appreciated not having to complete the extra step of placing the adhesive squares on the back of each print. Hanging the MeshCanvas prints was also super easy. I simply choose the desired spot on my wall, removed the backing on the adhesive squares, and firmly pressed the prints onto the vertical surface. The three photos of my two kiddos look amazing and with so little effort on my part!

I am finally quite pleased with the quality of my MeshCanvas prints. The photos of my children are clear and crisp. The art gallery paper atop the board material results in a truly gorgeous print. (I have pixelized the photos of my prints to protect the privacy of my children.) Once hung on the wall, frameless MeshCanvas sticks out only three-fourths of an inch, which is not much more than most of the framed photos in my house. The board behind the printed image is thick and sturdy but very lightweight. I am not at all worried about my new prints falling off my walls, which I cannot say about my framed photos. I am totally thinking about getting some MeshCanvas prints of my kiddos for my mom for her Christmas gift (shh!).

Final Verdict

Made with art gallery paper and unique lightweight board, MeshCanvas prints allowed me to turn some adorable photos of my kiddos into hanging wall art. Each 0.75-inch photo board came with four adhesive squares to attach the print to my wall, meaning I could easily display my favorite photographic memories without screws, nails, tools, or damage to my walls. The art gallery paper atop the board material results in a truly gorgeous print, and I am quite impressed with the quality of my MeshCanvas prints. I would totally order more prints in the future because MeshCanvas is the easiest way to decorate my home!
