If you wanted to find a pumpkin, where would you look? In a log? In a leaf pile? In an apple tree? No! In a pumpkin patch! When Duck and Goose see Thistle with a pumpkin, the lovable characters want a pumpkin too.
After discovering the Duck & Goose books last summer, my daughter and I immediately fell in love with the series. My daughter loves both ducks and pumpkins, so Duck & Goose Find a Pumpkin by Tad Hills is a perfect title for her.
Like the other Duck & Goose board books, Duck & Goose Find a Pumpkin is a simple story for young pre-readers and readers. The language is simple and focuses on locations and questions. The repetitiveness of the language is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers who are still acquiring language and for emerging readers who will find the story easier to read.
Also like the other Duck & Goose books, I love the simple but whimsical illustrations. Full of fall colors, Duck & Goose Find a Pumpkin is perfect for reading from September through Thanksgivings. The fun illustrations make watching Duck and Goose look in all sorts of odd places for a pumpkin even more fun.
Final Verdict: If you are looking for a simple book for the autumn season, I highly recommend Duck & Goose Find a Pumpkin by Tad Hills. The story is perfect for young readers, and the illustrations are engaging and whimsical. My daughter and I give this book four enthusiastic thumbs up.
