I have taken my kiddos to the pool quite a few times the past few months. With summer coming to an end soon, I hope to get out swimming a few more times before Labor Day. I already own a few swimming suits but am always on the lookout for another one to add to my rotation. Since I know what I like finding the perfect swimsuit should be easy for me, especially with my body type. However, a friend of mine has been waist training and, while following the guide to success with her new training, she wanted to find swimsuits that would better fit her shape. I really wanted to help so when I was recently offered the chance to review a retro high-waisted bikini swimsuit from Fitglam in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity.

The high-waisted bottoms cover the stomach past the belly button, which provides tummy control while creating a slim waistline. The ruffles on the front of the bottoms also conceal belly pudge. The leg openings are cut low to offer additional coverage on the upper thighs and bottom. The bra-top is padded and wireless, providing good support for the bust. The top ties in the back and around the neck. The swimsuit currently comes in three color options: black dots, black top and red bottom, and black flower. Performance
After consulting the Fitglam sizing chart, I chose the black top and red bottom of the retro high-waisted bikini swimsuit in the US 6-8 size, which currently costs $22.95. The brand specifically states to use Fitglam sizing chart rather than the Amazon chart, so I measured myself before ordering. I typically wear a size 6 bottom and a 34C bra, so I found the chart spot-on. The US 6-8 fits me quite comfortably. The bottoms are not too snug but do features elastic around the waist, which keeps the band from falling down. I probably could have gone down a size smaller, but I did not want to run the risk of getting a swimsuit that fit overly snuggly.
The bra-top fits me pretty well. Because I am nursing my son, I sometimes fluctuate in size, so I prefer a slightly looser top over a snug one. The top of the Fitglam retro high-waisted bikini swimsuit offers me the coverage that I need without feeling constricting. I can also easily feed my son while wearing the swimsuit. I do wish that the neck and back ties were slightly longer, but I can tie both acceptably.
I especially love the bottoms of the Fitglam retro high-waisted bikini swimsuit. The leg openings are cut low to cover the tops of the thighs and bottom better. I am not shy about wearing a swimsuit in public, but I prefer to wear a bathing suit that keeps me covered without any effort on my part as I chase my kids around the pool and splash pads. These bottoms cover my booty at all times without riding up. I also love the high waist and the ruffled front. After having two babies, my tummy is still a bit stretched out. I prefer to keep my stretch marks covered up, especially because stretch marks tend to be more sensitive to the sun. I am fair-skinned anyway, so a swimsuit that overs more coverage is perfect for me. Plus, I can wear my long-sleeve red swimsuit with this high-waisted bikini and match perfectly.
