Hotmilk Lingerie Nursing Bra Review

Disclosure: I received a Celestial Nursing Bra from Hotmilk Lingerie as part of an advertorial.

Although my almost 29-month-old daughter no longer nurses frequently, she still occasionally asks for “milky.” Because she still breastfeeds sometimes throughout the day, I prefer to wear nursing bras. I have been wearing nursing bras since her birth. And, although I have found some that I really like, the search for a good bra for breastfeeding was far from easy. Thus, when recently offered a chance to review a nursing bra from Hotmilk Lingerie, I eagerly accepted the opportunity.

Celestial Nursing Bra

I received the  Celestial Nursing Bra from Hotmilk Lingerie in a 34C. The bra retails for $57.95 (but is currently available for $40.50), meaning the price is higher than many other brands. Available in sizes 32 to 38 and cup sizes C to GG, the Celestial Nursing Bra offers the following features:

  • Full cup bra with low center front and fantastic coverage
  • Black with cream micro spot, cute lace trim on neckline, and hot pink bow
  • Non-stretch cup fabric gives great support for a full bust
  • A-frame to support your bust while feeding
  • 100% cotton lined for comfort and breathability

I chose the Celestial Nursing Bra for two reasons. First, I thought the starry sky fabric was adorable. I tend to wear more darker colors, especially during the cooler months, so I tend to need darker colored bras. I also liked the cut of the bra. Although most of my nursing bras are cut lower, I do have another similar bra that I really like to wear under higher cut shirts.

When I first put on the Celestial Nursing Bra from Hotmilk Lingerie, I immediately noticed the softness of the fabric. The shiny material is very comfortable, which is especially important for breasts that can become irritated from breastfeeding. I also immediately noticed a lack of itchy seams. One of my least favorite nursing bras that I hardly wear has some scratchy lace on the sides. The Celestial Nursing Bra, however, is extremely comfortable. I can and do wear the bra from morning until bedtime without any discomfort. The bra provides me with the support I need all day. I therefore rate the Celestial Nursing Bra extremely highly in terms of comfort, especially for a breastfeeding mom.

In addition to the comfort, I also appreciate the number of hooks on the Celestial Nursing Bra. Breastfeeding mothers often fluctuate in weight and size after giving birth and beyond. Right after my daughter was born through her first year, I was larger in the bust area. Now that my daughter is an older daughter on the verge of weaning, I have slimmed down considerably. Six hooks on the Celestial Nursing Bra, rather than the typical three or four, allows a single bra to fit for longer. Right now I am wearing the bra on the fourth set of hooks in. The extra hooks also allow the bra to fit longer as the fabric slowly stretches over time.

To make nursing easier, the Celestial Nursing Bra features cups that snap down. The snaps are very easy to use. I can undo both with only one hand, which is especially important when breastfeeding younger babies. I remember holding my daughter in one hand while unhooking my nursing bra with the other. I can also refasten the snaps easily with one hand. The cups also fold down enough to allow easy access to the nipple. My toddler has no problem nursing while I am wearing the Celestial Nursing Bra.

Final Verdict: Although the Celestial Nursing Bra from Hotmilk Lingerie is priced slightly higher than other similar nursing bras, the price is definitely worth the comfort. Of all my nursing bras, the Celestial Nursing Bra is now one of my favorites. The material is incredibly soft, and the bra is free from scratchy seams and lace. The bra provides great support for lactating breasts and is comfortable from morning through night. Additionally, the nursing snaps are easy to work one-handed and provide easy access to the breast for nursing babies. If you are looking for a comfortable nursing bra of high quality, I highly recommend the Hotmilk Lingerie Celestial Nursing Bra.
