Imagine One-Size Diaper Cover Review

The one-size diaper cover from Imagine is an economical option for cloth diapering parents who prefer covers over pocket or all-in-one diapers. I almost exclusively use Best Bottom all-in-two diapers on my daughter. However, I have purchased some other covers to try including an Imagine cover in emerald (green).

Image diaper covers cost just $10.95 full prize at Nicki’s Diapers, which makes the Imagine cover an extremely economical options for parents who wish to stick to a budget while cloth diapering. I personally use my Best Bottom inserts laid inside my Imagine cover. However, prefolds such as the Imagine Smart Fit Prefolds and other inserts also work inside the cover.

As a one-size diaper, the Imagine cover offers three rows of three torso snaps that allow the diaper to adjust from small to medium to large. Imagine recommends a weight range of 8 to 35+ pounds. At four months and 15 pounds, my son wore the diaper on the smallest rise and waist settings. At 22 pounds, my daughter was already in the largest torso setting. However, she was also on only the second to smallest hip snap setting. At three years and 29 pounds, she wore the diaper on the largest rise setting and with four top and three bottom waist snaps exposed. Although I agree that the Imagine one-size diaper cover can work on babies up to 35 pounds or bigger, I recommend the newborn size for smaller newborns and infants because my son could not wear the cover on the smallest settings until approximately 15 pounds.

I also really appreciate the double leg gussets on the Image one-size diaper cover. Double gussets are almost a must for any new diapers that I purchase. I do own some diapers and covers with single leg gussets. However, my preference is for double gussets, which hold in dirty messes better. I also think that double gussets form a better seal around my daughter’s legs, thus lessening the risk of moisture leaks as well. The double leg gussets on the Imagine diaper cover work perfectly on my daughter.

However, unlike many of my other diaper covers, I find that the Imagine one-size diaper cover has a fairly low rise. For overnight, I use a Stay Dry Best Bottom insert, a microfiber overnight Best Bottom insert, and a FuzziBunz minky insert. Although the combination fits inside many of my other covers, I cannot use my Imagine diaper cover on my daughter at night. The diaper is slightly too short, so the inserts peek out the end, rending the cover useless for my overnight needs.

I do really love the bright emerald green color of my Emerald Imagine diaper cover. As a budget diaper brand, Imagine offers only a handful of colors and prints. Offering only a limited number means that Imagine can sells its diaper covers at a lower price. And, although this diaper cover is inexpensive compared to many other brands, the quality is still very high. I have owned my Imagine for about nine months now and have had no problems with the snaps, elastic, or PUL.

Final Verdict: In general, I like my Imagine one-size diaper cover. The color is gorgeous, and the quality is comparable to more expensive brands. Although I agree that the Imagine cover will fit many babies up to 35 pounds or more, I do find the rise a bit low, especially for my daughter whose torso is on the longer side. If you are looking for an inexpensive but high quality diaper cover, I recommend checking out the Imagine brand.
