Imagine One-Size All-In-Two Cloth Diaper Review

As a huge fan of the Best Bottom all-in-two cloth diaper system, I was excited to try out the new one-size all-in-two diaper from Imagine. I received a Raspberry (pink) one-size all-in-two cloth diaper from Imagine to review.

The Imagine one-size all-in-two cloth diaper system consists of a one-size shell and snap-in Stay Dry inserts. All-in-two diapers are very economical because only the insert needs changed at every diaper change. The shell can be used multiple times before needing washed. Imagine all-in-two shells currently retail for $14.95 each, and the inserts are priced at $9.95 for a three-pack of size one and $10.95 for a three-pack of size two.

When I first inspected my Imagine one-size all-in-two diaper shell, I must admit that I did a little happy dance. As my readers know, I love the Best Bottom all-in-two system. The one improvement that I have suggest for Best Bottoms is to add a flap inside on the front and back of the shell to help prevent the insert from popping out accidentally. The Imagine system combines all the features that I love about Best Bottom while adding the extra internal flaps. With an extremely active toddler, I need all the assurance I can get that the insert is not going to sneak up from inside the diaper, resulting in moisture wicking.

The Imagine one-size all-in-two diaper system is so incredibly easy to use. Begin by adjusting the shell to fit the baby. Each shell features three rows of torso snaps that adjust to small, medium, and large. Small fits infants between 8 and 15 pounds. Medium fits infants and toddlers between 15 and 23 pounds. Large fits toddlers between 23 and 35+ pounds. My daughter weighs about 26 pounds and wears either the medium or large setting depending on the number of inserts inside the shell.

After adjusting the shell size, snap an insert inside the diaper. Imagine offers two sizes of inserts: size one and size two. Size one fits babies between 8 and 19 pounds. Size two fits babies between 20 and 35+ pounds. At 26 pounds, my daughter uses the size two insert. Made with four layers of microfiber topped with super soft fleece, the Imagine inserts are extremely comfortable against the skin and super absorbent. And I love that the insert snaps into the diaper shell. I never have to worry about the insert bunching up or moving out of place. (As an aside, the Best Bottom inserts do snap into the Imagine shells.)

With the insert snapped in the shell, finally snap the Imagine one-size all-in-two diaper onto the baby. Two rows of snaps allow you to get the perfect fit around the waist on the snap diaper. (Imagine also offers a Velcro version of the one-size all-in-two diaper.) At four months and 15 pounds, my son wore the diaper on the smallest rise and waist settings. At two years and 26 pounds, my daughter wore her Imagine diaper with three snap settings left around the waist, so I definitely thought that this brand would last her well past potty training. At three years and 29 pounds, she wore the all-in-two on the largest rise setting and with four top and three bottom waist snaps exposed. Although I agree that the Imagine all-in-two can work on babies up to 35 pounds or bigger, I recommend the newborn cover for smaller newborns and infants because my son could not wear the all-in-two on the smallest settings until approximately 15 pounds.

In addition to the snap-in inserts that I love, the Imagine one-size all-in-two cloth diaper system also features double leg gussets. Although I own some diapers and diaper covers with single leg gussets, I prefer double gussets. As I have learned from experience, double leg gussets tend to hold in diaper messes more efficiently than single gussets. I also never have any leakage problems with double leg gussets overnight. The two gussets help create a tight (but never uncomfortable) seal around the legs.

Dealing with dirty Imagine one-size all-in-two diapers is also incredibly easy. During a diaper change, simply unsnap the wet insert and replace with a clean one. You can even use the shell to avoid touching the soaked insert. I use my Imagine shells three to four times before swapping out a new shell. For dirty diapers, remove the poop and unsnap the insert. Wash both wet and soiled Imagine diapers per your usual cloth diaper laundry routine. Toss the inserts in the dryer, and allow the covers to air dry.

The Imagine one-size all-in-two cloth diaper is currently available in five colors and three prints: Raspberry (pink), Marigold (yellow), Emerald (green), Indigo (blue), Snow (white), Flutter (white with butterfly print), Rawr (blue with dinosaur print), and Trumpet (yellow with elephant print). I was so impressed with my review Imagine one-size all-in-two diaper that I bought the Trumpet print as well for my daughter because she loves elephants right now.

Final Verdict: I highly recommend the Imagine one-size all-in-two cloth diaper system. The Imagine all-in-two double offers the three most important features that I  look for in any diaper: snap-in inserts, internal front and back flaps, and double leg gussets. Despite the abuse through which my daughter has put her Imagine cover and inserts, I have yet to have a problem with the diaper leaking. And the price is just right for an all-in-two system. However, my son could not wear the diaper until approximately 15 pounds, so the system may not work for smaller newborns and infants. If you are looking for an all-in-two diaper, my daughter and I give the Imagine all-in-two system four enthusiastic thumbs up.
