I am all about keeping my kids as safe as possible. Both my children are extremely curious and like to get into my cabinets. While my preschooler usually does not get into my cabinets anymore, my toddler does. I have thus been adding safety locks around my house to protect him and my stuff. Therefore, when recently offered the chance to review a set of child safety locks from Kinder Kit in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity.
Price
Kinder Kit child safety locks currently retail for $16.99 on Amazon. Each adhesive lock comes to $2.83. The kit also comes with twelve bonus plastic outlet plug covers. Considering the price of each lock, the kit is comparatively priced to other child safety locks. I therefore rate the price positively.
Design
The set of child safety locks from Kinder Kit comes with six locks and twelve bonus plastic outlet covers. The locks promise to effectively keep children away from dangerous household items like chemical cleaners, medicine, sharp objects, and choking hazards by securing cabinets, wardrobes appliances, drawers, refrigerators, trash bins, toilet seats, and more. Reusable and convenient, the locks feature an adjustable length and work perfectly on both flat surfaces and round corners. Heavy duty 3M adhesive tape allows for installation of the locks in seconds without any drilling or special tools.
Performance
Attaching the Kinder Kit child safety locks to my cabinets is incredibly easy. I have not wanted to drill into my cabinets, so I had been having trouble finding locks that worked for me. The 3M adhesive on these locks is super strong, which I have come to expect from 3M products. Installation is incredibly simple. I cleaned my cabinets, removed the backing from the locks, and pressed the locks into place. I needed only a matter of seconds for each lock. I thus rate the installation of the child safety locks from Kinder Kit extremely highly.
The child safety locks from Kinder Kit open and close in two ways. To open part A, slide the clip button on the top of the part, and the top releases from the bottom. To close part A, press the top back onto the bottom until you hear a click. To open part B, push and slide the latch cover to the side and then pull the strap out. To close part B, reinsert the strap and slide the latch cover back into place. I personally prefer to use part A to open and close the locks, but the dual options allow you to secure so many different types of cabinets. Both parts are easy enough for adults to use. I can even open the locks one-handed, but neither my preschooler nor my toddler are able to open the locks. I therefore rate these child safety locks as effective against kids but easy for parents to use.

I love that I can use the adjustable safety locks from Kinder Kit on both flat surfaces and round corners. My son loves to get into my rag cabinet. While he cannot hurt himself or the rags, I found myself getting tired of picking up after him. I was able to use one of these locks on the corner and secure the cabinet from my toddler. I also used one on the cabinet in which I keep many of my kitchen gadgets. My previous lock that worked on that single door recently broken. The flexible strap of the Kinder Kit lock safely keeps my curious toddler away from my food processor and other utensils. The only downside to these locks is that, although the company labels these are reusable, no extra adhesive accompanies the kit. I am not sure if I could find double-side tape strong enough to reuse the locks around my house.
Final Verdict
I am quite pleased with my six-pack of child safety locks from Kinder Kit. The pack comes with six adjustable adhesive locks and twelve bonus outlet covers. Installing the locks is incredibly easy without any drilling, and the 3M adhesive on these locks is super strong. Simply remove the backing on the adhesive and adhere to a clean surface. The locks open in two ways: (1) sliding the clip button on the one side and (2) pushing and sliding the latch cover on the other. Both parts are easy enough for adults to use, even one-handed, but neither of my children are able to open the locks. Overall, I rate the Kinder Kits child safety locks as effective against kids but easy for parents to use.
