Although I own quite a few wooden and plastic spoons, I by far prefer silicone spatulas when cooking. Silicone is easy to care for and easy to use. I can use silicone spatulas when baking and cooking as well as on any cookware surface. Although I primarily use cast iron, silicone is perfect for nonstick cookware. Thus, when recently offered the chance to review a premium silicone spatula from LouisChoice in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity to add to my utensil drawer.

The LouisChoice premium silicone spatula currently retails for $10.99 with a sale price of $10.29 on Amazon. I personally find the price a little on the expensive side. I have purchased other similar silicone spatulas for a few dollars less. However, for a high-quality utensil, the price is not overly outrageous. I would still like to see this spatula priced a dollar or two less.
Design

Performance
The LouisChoice premium silicone spatula is currently available in three colors: red, blue, and orange. I chose the Christmas red because the color matches the rest of my kitchen and many of my other cooking utensils. More importantly, the entire spatula consists of FDA-approved. When I add a new utensil to my kitchen, I first and foremost consider the design. I am not a fan of silicone spatulas with plastic handles because, although the silicone is heat-resistant, the plastic is not. I once melted a plastic handle over the edge of a pot, so I prefer fully silicone spatulas. I do not have to worry about the silicone handle of my LouisChoice spatula melting when left against the side of a hot pot or pan for a short time.
I really like the design of the premium silicone spatula from LouisChoice. The one-piece seamless construction means that I never have to worry about food getting stuck in any nooks or crannies. Even the grossest dried on food washes off cleanly with dish detergent and hot water. I love the silicone is dishwasher-safe because I hate washing dirty dishes by hand. I personally place the dirty spatula in the cutlery basket in my dishwasher. The silicone washes clean the first time every time. I also sometimes rinse the silicone in the sink first to quickly remove the most offensive residue; however, rinsing is definitely not necessary with the non-stick silicone. The one-piece seamless design also means that food does not get caught between the head and the handle. Washing the spatula from LouisChoice is an absolute breeze!
I love using the LouisChoice premium silicone spatula for all sorts of cooking and baking. When I bake cakes or muffins, I use the spatula to scrape the sides of my bowl as I mix the batter. The silicone is perfect for cooking in my cast iron pans and skillets. The beveled edge allows me to scrape food cleanly from the bottom crease of my pans and stir all sorts of dishes. I use the silicone spatula to stir pudding, icing, fruit salads, pasta salads, and more. I have not yet found a situation in which I could not use this spatula in my kitchen. I am definitely impressed with all the uses of this multifunctional utensil!
