Magic Town Short-Sleeve Princess Dress Costume Review

Magic Town Short-Sleeve Princess Dress Costume Review

My daughter wants to be a fairy princess. She also loves twirly dresses and the color pink. Pink twirly dresses that make her look like a fairy princess are her absolute favorite. Thus, when recently offered the chance to review a short-sleeve princess dress costume from Magic Town in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity with my daughter’s blessing and excitement.

Price and Design

The Magic Town short-sleeve princess dress costume currently costs $20.99 on Amazon with a list price of $49.99. For little girls between the ages of 2 and 7, the beautiful pink dress consists of gauze, pleuche, and polyester taffeta. The short-sleeve top features velvety soft sweat-absorbent material while the lovely lighter pink lace bottom features white hearts and a white ribbon that ties around the waist. The dress comes in 2T, 3T, 4T, 5, and 6X sizes. Magic Town recommends hand washing the dress separately and hanging to dry.

Performance

My petite daughter typically wears a size 4 or 5 dress, so I chose the Magic Town short-sleeve princess dress in size 5 (XL). The dress is only slightly large on my daughter, so I am glad that I went with the size 5 for her. She has plenty of room to grow and should be able to dress like a fairy princess for at least the next year. Magic Town also offers the dress in sizes as small as 2T (33 inches and 24 pounds) and as big as 6X (52 inches and 54 pounds). I found the sizing chart absolutely accurate.

My daughter looks like a little princess in her new poufy pink dress. I like that the velvet top and the inside layer of the skirt are super soft against the skin. I remember wearing scratchy dresses as a little girl, but the design of this dress keeps the less soft material on the top layers and away from the skin. My daughter says that she was comfortable in her new pretty pink dress as well. Her only complaint was that the full skirt was not ideal for sitting at the kitchen table while working on school time, but she is excited to wear her new pretty dress to her cousin’s birthday party! She also loves the pink color!

As for quality, I found even stitching on all the seams of the short-sleeve princess dress costume from Magic Town and no loose strings. I was a bit concerned that the edges of the waist ribbon and skirt would fray, but so far the material is holding up perfectly. Magic Town does recommend hand washing, so I will probably put the dress in a delicates bag and use the hand wash cycle on my washing machine. I wash all my daughter’s other fancy dresses using this method and have never had any problems. I will also allow the dress to air dry. Overall, my daughter and I are absolutely pleased with her new pretty pink princess dress!
