Mulcolor LED Light Bulbs Review

Mulcolor LED Light Bulbs Box

I love LED lights. Over the past year, I have worked on switching out all my old incandescent bulbs for LED bulbs. LEDs last longer and cost less to operate. I also like that LED bulbs lack the mercury present in CFL bulbs. With two young children in my home plus four small animals, I also appreciate that LED bulbs are more resistant to bumping and jarring compared to incandescent and CFL bulbs. When recently offered the chance to review a six-pack of 60-watt-equivalent LED light bulbs from Mulcolor in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity.

The pack of six Mulcolor LED light bulbs currently cost $25.99 on Amazon with a list price of $39.99. At the current sale price, each bulb costs approximately $4.33, which I find comparable to other LED bulbs that I have purchased. With standard E26 screw bases, the bulbs are easy to install. The 9 watt LED bulbs provide the equivalent amount of light as an incandescent 60 watt bulb. Mercury free and consuming only 20% of the power of a conventional light, each soft-white bulb operates with a lifespan of 25,000 hours.

I decided to use four of the six LED light bulbs from Mulcolor in the light above my bathroom sink. The light fixtures are open at the bottom, so I always worried about using CFL bulbs. With my new LED bulbs, I no longer worry about my kids throwing anything hard in my bathroom and accidentally breaking one of the lights. As I have found with the other LEDs around my house, the Mulcolor bulbs are much more durable than glass incandescent and CFL bulbs. I jostled the box quite a bit, and I am sure that the delivery man did as well, but all the bulbs still work perfectly.

LED bulbs tend to weight more than other bulbs, and my new Mulcolor bulbs are no exception. I honestly do not care about the weight increase because I screw the bulbs in my light fixture and am on my way. This six-pack resembles conventional incandescent bulbs in size and shape but use only 20% of the power of an incandescent bulb to operate. I love that I can cut my lighting costs by 80% by simply switching out the light bulbs in my home. I have also found that LEDs tend to last much longer than either incandescent or CFL bulbs. None of my LEDs have yet to burn out and have nowhere neared the estimated lifespan of 25,000 hours. The LED bulbs also turn on instantly at the flip of a switch.

You should note that this six-pack from Mulgrove is not dimmable and is for indoor use only. If you want a bulb to use in an outdoor socket, you will need a different type. However, I have been using mine in my bathroom with no problem. While my bathroom can get a little steamy, especially in the winter, the lights are well away from moisture, and I am careful about drying out the room after use to prevent mold. The soft-white lights brighten up my bathroom and seem comparable to my old 60 watt incandescent bulbs. Overall, I am quite pleased with my new six-pack of 60-watt-equivalent LED light bulbs from Mulcolor.
