Performance

Recently one of my cabinet locks broke, so I was in need of a new one. I was more than pleased by the two different styles of ONME baby safety locks. The flexible white locks are longer and work exceptionally well on my kitchen cabinets. I used one between two doors to keep my little ones away from my glass food jars. The lock easily spans the width between the two doors. The flexible lock also works great on the cabinet in which I keep many of my kitchen gadgets. I had never found a lock that worked on that single door. The flexible plastic lock keeps my curious toddler away from my food processor and other utensils. The hard plastic blue locks work exceptionally well on my cabinet doors that touch in the middle. I used one of the locks on the cabinet under my kitchen sink as a second lock to keep my children away from my cleaning supplies.

Attaching the ONME baby safety locks to my cabinets is incredibly easy. I have not wanted to drill into my cabinets, so I had been having trouble finding locks that worked for me. The 3M adhesive on these locks is super strong, which I have come to expect from 3M products. Installation is incredibly simple. I cleaned my cabinets, removed the backing from the locks, and pressed the locks into place. I needed only a matter of seconds for each lock. I thus rate the installation of the baby safety locks from ONME extremely highly.

Flexible ONME Baby Safety Lock on Cabinet Door

Opening the ONME baby safety locks is likewise easy for adults. Neither my toddler nor my preschooler has figured out how to open either the flexible white lock or the hard plastic blue lock. My preschooler has figure out how to get around the doorknob covers in my house and the locks on some baby gates, so I am impressed by the design of these safety locks. My toddlers has pulled on the ONME locks in his attempts to get into my kitchen cabinets, but so far the locks have thwarted his efforts. I, however, can easily and quickly open both styles of locks one-handed. I therefore rate these baby safety locks as effective against kids but easy for parents to use.

Update: About a month after attaching one of the flexible white locks to my kitchen cabinet, the adhesive on one side pulled away from the cabinet. I had to remove the lock because I could not get the broken side to reattach. To remove the adhesive, I used a little vinegar and some elbow grease. I am a bit irritated that the adhesive did not last longer. 3M adhesive is usually very high quality, so I am hoping that this problem is a fluke and that my other locks remain firmly attached for longer.
