    Letter A Preschool Activities

    Objective: To learn about the letter A

    Craft/Activity 1: Little Letter A Book

    Materials

    • Little Letter A Book template (http://www.themeasuredmom.com/rhymes-for-preschoolers-letter-a-book/)
    • Blank paper
    • Stapler

    Directions

    1. Print the Little Letter A Book template onto the blank paper.
    2. Cut an even line across the center of the page.
    3. Fold the two sheets to make a book.
    4. Staple the book together.
    5. Read the Little Letter A Book.

    Craft/Activity 2: Letter A Apple Sorting (http://fromabcstoacts.com/letter-a-apple-sorting)

    Materials

    • Letter A apple sorting template
    • Blank paper
    • Black marker

    Directions

    1. Print the letter A apple sorting template onto the blank paper.
    2. Cut out the apples and baskets.
    3. Write uppercase and lowercase As on the apples.
    4. Sort the uppercase and lowercase As into the corresponding baskets.

    Craft/Activity 3: Fingerprint Ants

    Materials

    • Letter A template (http://www.quality-kids-crafts.com/support-files/letter-a-template.pdf)
    • Blank paper
    • Black paint
    • Scrap cardboard
    • Black marker

    Directions

    1. Print the letter A template onto the blank paper.
    2. Pour some black paint onto the scrap cardboard.
    3. Press black fingerprints all over the letter As.
    4. Use the marker to draw six legs on each fingerprint.

    Optional: Set the finished A craft aside to bind into a book at the end of the alphabet lesson.
