    Letter C Preschool Activities

    Objective: To learn about the letter C

    Craft/Activity 1: Little Letter C Book

    Materials

    • Little Letter C Book template (http://www.themeasuredmom.com/letter-c-rhymes-songs-free-letter-book/)
    • Blank paper
    • Stapler

    Directions

    1. Print the Little Letter C Book template onto the blank paper.
    2. Cut an even line across the center of the page.
    3. Fold the two sheets to make a book.
    4. Staple the book together.
    5. Read the Little Letter C Book.

    Craft/Activity 2: Paper Plate Cat

    Materials

    • Brown, blue, pink, and white nontoxic paint
    • White paper plate
    • Scrap cardboard
    • Craft glue
    • Paintbrushes
    • Scissors
    • Black marker
    • Small binder clips

    Instructions

    1. Pour some brown paint onto the cardboard.
    2. Paint the front of the paper plate with the brown paint.
    3. Allow the brown paint to dry thoroughly.
    4. Turn the plate over.
    5. Using the black marker, trace the center circle of the plate and then outline three triangles on one edge. (See image for template.)
    6. Cut out the circle and three triangles using the scissors.
    7. Pour a small amount of blue paint onto the cardboard.
    8. Press two blue fingertip print eyes onto the black circle.
    9. Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
    10. Pour a small amount of pink paint onto the cardboard.
    11. Press one pink fingertip print nose into the center of the black circle.
    12. Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
    13. Use a paintbrush to paint a cat’s mouth under the nose.
    14. Pour a small amount of white paint onto the cardboard.
    15. Use a paintbrush to paint whiskers onto the cheeks on both sides of the nose.
    16. Use craft glue to glue the black circle and one triangle onto the remaining paper plate as well as the two remaining triangles onto the black circle. Use the small binder clips to hold the pieces in place while the glue dries.

    Craft/Activity 3: Cotton Ball Painting

    Materials

    • Letter C template (http://www.quality-kids-crafts.com/support-files/letter-c-template.pdf)
    • Blank paper
    • Cotton balls
    • Paint
    • Scrap cardboard

    Directions

    1. Print the letter C template onto the blank paper.
    2. Pour some paint onto the scrap cardboard.
    3. Use the cotton balls to paint the letter Cs.

    Optional: Set the finished C craft aside to bind into a book at the end of the alphabet lesson.
