American Sign Language: Form a fist with the thumb resting over the index finger. (


Craft/Activity 1: Little Letter S Book


  • Little Letter S Book template (
  • Blank paper
  • Stapler


  1. Print the Little Letter S Book template onto the blank paper.
  2. Cut an even line across the center of the page.
  3. Fold the two sheets to make a book.
  4. Staple the book together.
  5. Read the Little Letter S Book.

Craft/Activity 2: Spice Painting (


  • Paper
  • Glue
  • Water
  • Spices


  1. Water down some glue.
  2. Spread the watered down glue on the paper.
  3. Sprinkle and pour the spices on the glue.

Craft/Activity 3: String Ss


  • Letter S template (
  • Blank paper
  • String
  • Scissors
  • Glue


  1. Print the letter S template onto the blank paper.
  2. Cut the string into small pieces
  3. Glue the string onto the letter Ss.

Optional: Set the finished S craft aside to bind into a book at the end of the alphabet lesson.
