American Sign Language: Hold the index and middle fingers apart and pointing up. Rest the other fingers and thumb on the palm. (https://parentingpatch.com/baby-sign-language-fingerspelling-v-w-x/)

Craft/Activity 1: Little Letter W Book

Materials

  • Little Letter W Book template (http://www.themeasuredmom.com/rhymes-for-letter-w-little-letter-w-book/)
  • Blank paper
  • Stapler

Directions

  1. Print the Little Letter W Book template onto the blank paper.
  2. Cut an even line across the center of the page.
  3. Fold the two sheets to make a book.
  4. Staple the book together.
  5. Read the Little Letter W Book.

Craft/Activity 2: Paper Wagons

Materials

  • Red and black construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Directions

  1. Cut the red construction paper into a large rectangle.
  2. Cut the black construction paper into two small circles and one long rectangle.
  3. Glue the black circles on the bottom of the red rectangle.
  4. Glue the long black rectangle on the side of the red rectangle.

Materials

  • Letter W template (http://www.quality-kids-crafts.com/support-files/letter-w-template.pdf)
  • Blank paper
  • Red and green paper
  • Black dot stickers
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Directions

  1. Print the letter W template onto the blank paper.
  2. Cut the red and green paper into small squares.
  3. Glue the green squares on the bottom of the Ws and the red squares on the top.
  4. Place black dot stickers on the red squares.

Optional: Set the finished W craft aside to bind into a book at the end of the alphabet lesson.
