Review of Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Diaper Ointment

When my daughter was born last December, James and I decided that we wanted to use more natural products on her hair and skin including diaper cream. We had already purchased some ointments including Desitin and Vaseline. However, once she was in our arms, we knew that we wanted something less chemical to put on her precious little bottom.

I love my Burt’s Bees lip balm. I also use ChapStick and Carmex but wanted a more natural product to use while I was pregnant. After Poppy was born, James and I decided to give Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Diaper Ointment a try.

Shopping online, we bought a 3-ounce tube of Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Diaper Ointment with vitamin E for $9.00 plus shipping. According to the packaging, this diaper cream is 100% natural. In the list of ingredients on the back of the tube, I truly do find only natural ingredients such as sweet almond oil, beeswax, jojoba seed oil, chamomile flower extract, lavender oil, canola oil, rosemary leaf extract, and soybean oil. Here is the complete list of ingredients as listed on my tube:

  • Burt's Bees Baby Bee Diaper OintmentPrunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond oil)
  • Zinc oxide
  • Beeswax
  • Lavandula (lavadin) hybrida oil
  • Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil
  • Anthemis nobilis (chamomile) flower extract
  • calendula officinalis (calendula) flower extract
  • Lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil
  • Tocopherol
  • Canola oil
  • Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract
  • Glycine soja (soybean oil)

The active ingredient for treating diaper rash in Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Diaper Ointment is zinc oxide. This diaper cream is also free from paraben, petrolatum, and mineral oil.

In my opinion, Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Diaper Ointment is one of the best natural diaper rash creams available. First, the ingredients are natural, so I feel confident about putting the ointment on my daughter in her most sensitive area. Because of the zinc oxide, I only use this diaper cream on Poppy when she any redness in her diaper area from wet or dirty diapers. When I put the cream on her bottom during one diaper change, I see an immediate improvement in her redness by the next diaper change. Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Diaper Ointment works fast!

I also really enjoy the smell of this diaper cream. Every time I open the tube, I immediately smell the lavender. I love the scent of my baby in general; Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Diaper Ointment just makes her smell a little sweeter!

Final Verdict: I love Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Diaper Ointment! This diaper cream not only smells great but contains only 100% natural ingredients as well. I will always keep a tube on hand to use on my daughter’s precious little bottom.
