What is the best diaper rash cream for preventing diaper rash? When our daughter was born three months ago, James and I wanted to use more natural products on her precious little body including on her sweet little bottom. We therefore began looking for natural and organic diaper creams. Our search quickly led us to Nature’s Baby Organics Diaper Ointment.
Shopping online, we bought a 3-ounce tube of Nature’s Baby Organics Diaper Ointment for only $8.73 plus shipping. According to the packaging, this diaper ointment is 98% certified organic and 100% vegetarian. The diaper cream also boasts to being free of glutens and parabens as well as to being made without preservatives or synthetic fragrances. I love that the ingredients are pronounceable oils and extracts that I have heard of instead of weird chemicals with long, frightening names. Here is the complete list of ingredients as listed on my tube:
- Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil
- Cera Alba (Beeswax)
- Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Seed Oil
- Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil
- Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil
- Calophyllum Tacamahaca (Tamanu) Oil
- Tocopherol (non-GMO)
- Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract
Stellaria Media (Chickweed) Extract
The only ingredient that I had to look up was tocopherol, which is a series of organic compounds of which many have vitamin E activity. Tocopherol is more commonly referred to as just vitamin E.
In my opinion, Nature’s Baby Organics Diaper Ointment is the best natural diaper ointment for preventing diaper rash. First, the ingredients are natural, so I feel confident about putting the ointment on my daughter in her most sensitive area. Although this cream looks like petroleum jelly, Nature’s Baby Organics Diaper Ointment contains only natural ingredients. The cream is thick and keeps moisture away from my daughter’s skin. Because she sleeps through the night, I apply this cream liberally on her diaper area at bedtime. Poppy has yet to suffer from diaper rash!
In addition to preventing diaper rash, my favorite feature of Nature’s Baby Organics Diaper Ointment is the scent. Every time that I open the tube, I am reminded of chocolate chip cookie dough minus the chocolate chips. Poppy already smells lovely; Nature’s Baby Organics Diaper Ointment makes her smell a little sweeter!
Final Verdict: I love Nature’s Baby Organics Diaper Ointment. This diaper ointment not only smells great but also contains only natural ingredients that I feel confident about using on my daughter. I will definitely be keeping a tube of this cream on hand to use on my daughter’s sensitive diaper area every night before bed.
