I am always looking for teaching materials to use with my children during homeschool lessons. My daughter started kindergarten two weeks ago. Just like her mother, she appears to be a very visual learner, especially with math. Once she can see a concept such as addition or subtraction, she better grasps the idea. When recently offered the chance to review the 124-piece magnetic numbers and counters set from Roscoe Learning at a deep discount in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity.
The Roscoe Learning 124-piece magnetic numbers and counters set currently costs $13.99 on sale on Amazon. Made of easy-to-grip foam with full magnetic backing, the letters and counters are thicker, taller, and wider for safety and comfortable handling. Each set includes three sets of numbers (0 to 9), eighty counters for sorting, and fourteen math symbols including +, -, ×, ÷, =, >, and < . The full-back magnets mean that small magnetic pieces will never come loose and pose a choking hazard. The set additionally includes an instructional guide with activity ideas for teaching your child the fundamental skills of matching, comparing, sorting, classifying, patterning, and counting.
I am quite pleased with my 124-piece magnetic numbers and counters set from Roscoe Learning. As my daughter works on her adding skills, the counters provide an excellent visual for basic addition. Whenever she and I work on her math worksheets, I bring the container of counters out for her to use as needed. She can easily pick up the large and colorful counters and manipulate the soft foam pieces on either her table or her magnetic board. My toddler son can also easily play with the counters. I especially appreciate that the full magnetic backs will never pose a choking hazard like counters with small magnets glued to the backs.

In addition to the counters, I also plan to use the numbers and mathematical symbols to teach my son his numbers and to continue working on basic math skills with my daughters. The colors of the foam pieces are bright, which helps capture and hold the attention of younger learners. With a total of 124 pieces, I can even set up multiple problems at once for my kiddos. I am therefore extremely pleased with my 124-piece magnetic numbers and counters set from Roscoe Learning and recommend one to all other fellow homeschoolers.
