I am the first to admit that scent affects my mood. When I am feeling down or anxious, lighting a cinnamon-, nutmeg-, or apple-scented candle perks me right up. I also love using scented oils on my skin. In the past, I have purchased coconut oil to use as a moisturizer, but I never added any fragrance. I love the idea of using essential oils to make my own beauty products. Thus, when recently offered the chance to review a Simply Earth Essential Oil Box in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity.

Performance
My Simply Earth Essential Oil Box came with orange, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and fir needle essential oils. The extras included five diffuser blend recipe and two craft recipes, soy wax flakes, four diffuser bottles, two glass candle jars, and two wicks. I was super excited to discover that my box came with so many awesome autumn and Christmas scents. The recipes that came in my box included mulled cider diffuser blend, pumpkin pie diffuser blend, and cozy holiday blend. I have never purchased essential oils before, and I must admit that I was a bit afraid that I would receive some scents that I did not love, but the box that I received was absolutely perfect for me!
As soon as Simply Earth Essential Oil Box arrived, I decided to mix together some oil blends and make the soy wax candles. Following the directions on the recipe card, I quickly and easily created a mulled cider candled and a cozy holiday candle. I was able to melt the soy wax in my microwave and add in as much scented oil as I wanted. I made two yummy smelling candles that boost my mood as soon as I light the wicks. I even had a little bit of melted wax leftover after I filled the two glass candle jars that came with the box, so I mix the scented soy wax with some coconut oil and made some delicious-smelling hand cream.
A little bit of the essential oils from Simply Earth goes a long way. Aside from candles in the evening (or to get rid of nasty cooking smells from my kitchen), I do not use many scented home products. I do, however, love scented beauty and skin care products. I just purchased some bee’s wax and shea butter, and I already have coconut oil on hand. I am planning on making some yummy scented moisturizers with the remaining oils in my Simply Earth Essential Oil Box. I must admit that I am super excited to try my hand at DIY skin care products! I am no essential oil expert, but I can say that the orange, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and fir needle essential oils in my box smell pure to my nose.
Final Verdict
If you are a fan of essential oils and subscription boxes, I definitely recommend the Simply Earth Essential Oil Box. Each box costs only $39 if you choose the once-a-month subscription option. Each box also contains five essential oils and five to seven recipes plus extras. I received orange, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and fir needle essential oils plus extras for making soy wax candles. Autumn and Christmas are my favorite times of the year, so I was absolutely delighted with the scents in my box. The orange, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and fir needle oils instantly brought me to my happy place. I love the two soy wax candles that I made following the directions in the box, and I am excited to use the rest of my essential oils to make homemade skin care products.
