Sportneer Portable Pop-up Beach Tent Sun Shelter Review

My kids and I love heading outside to the park during the warmer months of the year. I am also quite serious about sun protection. Although I prefer to stay inside during peak sun hours, sometimes my kids simply need to get out of the house. When recently offered the chance to review the portable pop-up beach tent sun shelter from Sportneer in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity. The sun tent currently costs $29.99 on Amazon.

Constructed with a durable steel structure and covered with 190T polyester material, the Sportneer portable pop-up beach tent sun shelter instantly pops open and easily folds up into a compact carrying bag to save time and space. Set up takes only a matter of seconds. The tent measures 43.5 inches tall by 59 inches wide by 56.5 inches deep and fits two adults or one adult and two children. The silver coated inner fabric provides 50+ UPF protection. The tent also comes with six steel stakes to keep the tent safe from blowing away in the wind.

When my package first arrived, I immediately unzipped the handy carrying bag and watched as my new Sportneer portable pop-up beach tent sun shelter instantly popped open. The tent works great outside to provide shelter against the sun. I can take the tent to the park or even use it in my backyard as instant shade while my kiddos play. The family structure is large enough to comfortably fit both my young children and myself. The polyester bottom makes a perfect picnic area on a warm day. I especially like the mesh on the bottom half of the back, which keeps the interior from overheating by allowing air to circulate.

My kids also love playing with the tent inside my house. On rainy days, I can easily set the pop-up structure in my living room. My daughter loves to prevent to camp. She also likes pretending the tent is a cave as she and her brother run around the house growling at each other like bears. I really love the versatility of the Sportneer portable pop-up beach tent sun shelter. I can keep my kids better occupied during warmer and cooler months alike.

I did have a little trouble getting the hang of folding the tent back up. At first I did not see the folding instructions on the tag on the inside of the carrying bag, so I struggled with refolding the structure unassisted. I finally did notice the instructions and was able to more easily fold the tent back down to a compact size. I will warn that getting the hang of folding the steel and polyester structure back up takes a bit of practice. However, once you figure out the best method, you can easily return the tent to a compact size that slips easily into the carrying case.

Finally, I really appreciate the six steel stakes that come with the tent. I live in the Midwest. On the open prairie, wind is abundant pretty much every day of the year. Without the stakes, this lightweight tent would surely blow away. However, I can easily secure the structure to the ground whenever my kids and I head outside. I am therefore quite pleased with the Sportneer portable pop-up beach tent sun shelter and recommend one to any family that likes to get outside in the sun!
