My toddler daughter loves both water tables and balls. My family is also a huge fan of the toys offered by Step2. Thus, when recently given the chance to test and review the new Busy Ball Play Table from Step2, I eagerly accepted the opportunity.

The Step2 Busy Ball Play Table is a water table unlike any other. Children age 1 and up will have fun catapulting balls into the basin or throw balls down the chutes. Used with just the balls, the Busy Ball Play Table is an exciting toy for year round play. Add up to four gallons of water and the play table becomes an interactive water table. Kids will enjoy pouring water down the chutes in addition to catapulting dripping balls through the air. The Step2 Busy Ball Play Table provides entertainment all year, both inside and out.

The Busy Ball Play Table from Step2 is made in the United States with imported parts. The accessories are made in China. Each table features ten colorful plastic balls and a scooping cup, three different paths for balls to travel down, a center spinner woks as a carousel for the play balls, two catapults on the side of the activity table for launching the play balls, and a drain plug for quick clean-up after playtime.

When I first showed her a picture of the Step2 Busy Ball Play Table, my toddler daughter was instantly excited. She loves the other water table from Step2 that she received for Christmas. She then spent the next couple of days waiting for her “ball water table” to arrive in the mail. Every time the doorbell rang, she ran to the door, full of hope that her new toy had arrived. When the delivery man dropped her Busy Ball Play Table outside our door a couple days ago, she literally shrieked with excitement over her “ball water table.”

My husband assembled the Step2 Busy Ball Play Table for me. In other 15 minutes, he had put all the pieces together. The legs of the table simply snap into the place. The center of the cutes requires a screwdriver for the screws that come with the toy. The rest of the chutes easily snap into the center tower. The plastic pieces feel and appear sturdy. Like other Step2 toys, I am confident that the Busy Ball Play Table will last for years with general use.

Because winter is still ever present in my neck of the woods, I first allowed my daughter to play with the Busy Ball Play Table from Step2 as a dry ball activity table. She absolutely loves launching the balls into the air using the catapults. She gets incredibly excited when one of the balls lends in the carousel in the middle or one of the chutes in the tower. My daughter also loves placing the balls in the center carousel and then watching the balls fly out as she spins the carousel around and around. I have no doubt in my mind that the Step2 Busy Ball Play Table will provide my daughter with hours and hours of indoor fun.

Because my daughter loves playing in water, I occasionally allow her to play with her water tables in the kitchen. After laying a tarp down on the floor, I fill the table up using the kitchen sink. My daughter loved playing with the “ball water table.” She loved splashing in the water and pouring the water down the chutes. She had a great time pouring the water through the holes in the center carousel and pouring water over the various play balls. Once summer arrives, I know that she will have a blast making a huge splash outside on our patio with her Step2 Busy Ball Play Table.

Final Verdict: The Step2 Busy Ball Play Table is a fun toy all year long, both inside and outside. As an inside toy, the balls provide hours of fun as children roll the balls down the chutes, spin the balls on the center carousel, and launch the balls from the catapults. As an outside toy, adding water to the table creates a “ball water table.” Kids will enjoy splashing and making a wet mess while playing with the balls and chutes in the water. The Busy Ball Play Table is also easy to use and securely built with sturdy plastic materials. If your toddler or preschooler loves balls and water, my toddler daughter and I both highly recommend the Step2 Busy Ball Play Table.
