My children love playing outside when the weather gets warm and sunny. My oldest daughter also dreams about playing in the sand at the beach later in the summer. While playing outside in our backyard, my son enjoys playing with his trucks in the woodchips under our playset. When recently offered the chance to review the new Dump Truck and Excavator from PLAYMOBIL in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity to add to our toy box with great excitement from my son.

Price and Design
Dump Truck
Recommended for children ages 2 and older, the PLAYMOBIL Dump Truck comes with a dump truck, detachable dump bed, sand sieve, two ramps, and one character figure. Suitable for indoor and outdoor play, the dump truck measures 10.6 inches by 4.7 inches by 5.9 inches. Use the detachable dump bed to build walls from sand, or fill the dump truck with sand using the removable sieve. After taking off the sieve from the dump bed, up to two figures fit inside the open roof of the cab of the vehicle. Additionally use the two ramps as water channels or bridges for the truck. The PLAYMOBIL Dump Truck currently retails for $24.99.
Excavator
Also recommended for children ages 2 and older, the PLAYMOBIL Excavator comes with an excavator, detachable sand bucket, flag, and one character figure. Also suitable for indoor and outdoor play, the excavator measures 15 inches by 4.9 inches by 5.7 inches. Use the sturdy removable bucket to dig holes or build hills in the sand, and then use the detachable PLAYMOBIL flag to mark the highest sand hill. After taking off the digger bucket from the excavator, up to two figures fit inside the open roof of the cab of the vehicle. The PLAYMOBIL Excavator currently retails for $24.99.
Evaluation
As I mentioned, my son loves playing with trucks of all types. When I first opened the package containing the new Dump Truck and Excavator from PLAYMOBIL, my son exclaimed with excitement about the two new vehicles. Sand will have to wait until a trip to the beach later in the summer, but my kids already love playing with both trucks in the woodchips under our playset in our backyard. With my rough-and-tumble kids, I need toys that withstand some major abuse. I am pleased to say that PLAYMOBIL toys are extremely high quality. My two oldest have already bashed the trucks into each other outside and even left the toys outside in the rain overnight. The plastic trucks and accessories show very little wear and tear so far, which I consider a necessity. I am confident that both trucks will last for many years to come.
Both my oldest daughter and my preschool son love playing with their new PLAYMOBIL Dump Truck and Excavator. The digger bucket from the excavator is perfect for scooping up woodchips, rice, or sand. My son likes piling up woodchips and then putting the flag on the top of the mound. My daughter especially enjoys using the two ramps from the dump truck in her imaginative play. The detachable dump bed also makes a great bucket for digging and building too. Both my kids love playing with the two figures that came with the vehicles, using the two truck sets for hours of creative outdoor play! My daughter is especially excited to take both to the beach later this summer.
Final Verdict
My kiddos love playing outside in nice weather, and my two oldest both enjoy playing with trucks. Both currently retail for a reasonable $24.99 each. PLAYMOBIL toys are extremely high quality, lasting for many years of even the roughest creative play. My kids already love playing with both truck sets in the woodchips under our playset in our backyard!
