If you are in the market for crib sheets, then I highly suggest giving SwaddleDesigns a try. SwaddleDesigns is known for their great quality products with long lasting value that parents and babies love and enjoy for years. Founded by Lynette Damir, RN, designer and mom of two, SwaddleDesigns is known for their premium quality fabric, fabulous colors and prints, and their innovative 123 SwaddleR pictorial instructional label sewn to the edge of their Swaddling blankets. SwaddleDesigns products are also well-respected by the medical community and are often recommended by pediatricians, nurses, doulas, and newborn care instructors.
When I was offered a SwaddleDesigns Flannel Fitted Crib Sheet to review, I jumped at the opportunity. All of the other crib sheets that I owned I had purchased secondhand at garage sales and thrift shops. Having a brand new crib sheet all her own would give my daughter a little something special for her crib mattress. SwaddleDesigns Flannel Fitted Crib Sheets are available in an assortment of twenty30+ plus designs and colors. I picked the True Blue and Blue Little Chickies, which is a white sheet with a blue and light blue chick print.
According to the product description, SwaddleDesigns Flannel Fitted Crib Sheets are made from soft flannel cotton, which provides cozy and comfortable 100% natural cotton fibers that are gentle on delicate baby skin. In my bed, which I share with my daughter at night, I already use flannel sheets. In the summer, flannel sheets stay comfortably cool. In the winter, flannel sheets remain warm. I am never going back to non-flannel sheets for my own bed, so I knew that my daughter would love the flannel material of her SwaddleDesigns Flannel Fitted Crib Sheet.
When my new SwaddleDesigns Flannel Fitted Crib Sheet arrived, I immediately unwrapped the adorable gift-ready packaging and popped the sheet in the washer. SwaddleDesigns are machine wash and dry, which is a must for a mom like me who does a lot of laundry every week. I have to be able to throw dirty crib sheets in with the rest of my laundry without having to worry about any extra steps or fuss.
Since my daughter sleeps with me and never uses her crib, I keep her crib mattress in the living room for her to play and nap on. When I showed her the new SwaddleDesigns Flannel Fitted Crib Sheet, she immediately touched the fabric. She definitely seemed to like the feel of the soft cotton flannel on her fingers. When I put the sheet on her mattress, she again immediately stroked the fabric with her hand. She also laid down and rubbed her cheek against the flannel.
The biggest testament to the superiority of the flannel of the SwaddleDesigns Flannel Fitted Crib Sheet over other crib sheets, however, is the way in which my daughter reacted when I put a different sheet on her mattress when I needed to wash the SwaddleDesigns. I took the dirty flannel sheet off and put on a plain cotton one. My daughter walked over to her mattress, touched the new sheet, and gave me a look that said, “No, Mama, this sheet is not as soft as the other sheet.” She definitely preferred the soft flannel of the SwaddleDesigns Flannel Fitted Crib Sheet over her other sheets!
Final Verdict: My daughter and I give the SwaddleDesigns Flannel Fitted Crib Sheet four enthusiastic thumbs up. I love that SwaddleDesigns Flannel Fitted Crib Sheets are easy to wash and are made in the USA. My daughter loves the softness of the flannel material. If I were to recommend only one crib sheet to a parent-to-be, I would definitely recommend the SwaddleDesigns Flannel Fitted Crib Sheet.
