The Duck and the Granary Burying Ground: The Rubber Ducky Project Week 15

The Duck and the Granary Burying Ground features a rubber duck at the Granary Burying Ground, a historic cemetery with 2,300 markers, along The Freedom Trail in Boston, Massachusetts. At the beginning of 2013, I made a resolution to post a weekly photograph of a rubber duck. Because my daughter loved rubber duckies so much, my goal was to post a picture a week of one of her rubber ducks. Her ducks have showed up in some pretty unusual places over the past few years as part of The Rubber Ducky Project.

It is great that you are teaching your daughter about history along with fun and her duck.

This is such a wonderful idea and it’s amazing that you have been doing it since 2013. That’s one lucky duck! (Sorry for my corny pun!) 😉

Oh wow, what a great idea! Fun way to teach lessons too.

  • The rubber ducky is such a neat idea! I love educational field trips so much. We homeschool as well and love that there are so many historical places and outdoor nature trails to visit here in FL. Oddly enough, our teen and I have a slight fascination with cemeteries.

  • What a neat idea!! I may need to do this with something of my kids, I have ended up going to some places with out them so this is perfect!

What a cute project, love it! I bet it will be so fun to reflect on all the pictures and places the rubber ducky visits!
