United Tapes Washi Tape Review

United Tapes Washi Tape Review

I love browsing for new craft ideas online. I am also totally into making wreaths for each season and holiday of the year. Many of the ideas that I have seen online incorporate washi tape into the design. Until recently, I had never tried the decorative tape in my own crafts. Thus, when recently offered the chance to review the set of twelve decorative craft washi masking tapes from United Tapes, I eagerly accepted the opportunity to expand my crafting repertoire.

Price

The set of twelve decorative craft washi masking tapes from United Tapes currently retails for $33.99 with a sale price of $16.99 on Amazon. Each roll of tape costs $2.83 at the full price and $1.42 at the sale price. Most other brands of washi tape sell for around $2 a roll, with many priced higher. I can also find a limited number of washi tapes at the dollar store. While I find the full price a fit expensive for my tastes, I would definitely pay the current sale price for the set of twelve tapes from United Tapes.

Performance

I seriously wish that I had invested in some washi tape for my craft projects a long time ago. I had been planning on making a patriotic wreath in red, white, and blue for my front room door for the Fourth of July. As soon as my twelve-pack of decorative craft washi masking tapes from United Tapes and I saw the red with white dots, blue with white stars, and red-white-blue stripe tapes, I knew exactly how I was going to make my wreath. After buying a rounded foam circle from the dollar store, I set about to wrapping the foam with my new washi tape. The tape stuck to the foam beautifully, and I loved that I could reposition the strips without ruining the adhesive. I quickly and easily wrapped the foam circle that serves as the base to my patriotic star wreath.

In addition to my red, white, and blue wreath, I also made some patriotic cup lanterns with my preschooler daughter. She and I used a few of the more patriotic tapes to decorate paper and plastic cups. I really appreciate that the washi tape from United Tapes is so kid-friendly. My daughter was able to easily apply pieces of the tape to her cups without any help. My toddler son also loves playing with small pieces of the colorful tape. I definitely recommend this washi tape if your kiddos are into crafting.

As promised, the decorative craft washi masking tapes from United Tapes is tearable. I personally prefer a smooth edge, so I cup my tape with my pair of crafting scissors. However, I did try tearing some, and the tape tore about quickly and easily without a lot of effort. The tape is also repositionable, which makes perfecting craft projects easier. As I previously mentioned, I repositioned the red, white, and blue tapes while working on my patriotic star wreath. Even after I pulled the tape off the foam wreath, I was able to stick the end back on without any problems. As soon as fall décor arrives at the dollar store, I will be making an autumn wreath with the red, orange, and yellow tapes in this pack.

Finally, I love all the rainbow colors in the twelve-pack of decorative craft washi masking tapes from United Tapes. I was super duper excited for the red, white, and blue tapes, which were absolutely perfect for my recent patriotic crafts for the Fourth of July. The red, orange, and yellow tapes will be perfect for fall crafts. I am also going to save the pink and purple chevron tapes for a spring or Easter wreath project. If you are shopping for a basic set of rainbow washi tapes, you cannot go wrong with this set of twelve from United Tapes!
