Winning Colors Baby New Style All-in-One Cloth Diaper Review

Winning Colors Baby New Style All-in-One Cloth Diaper Review

Although I loved covers and all-in-twos on my daughter, I hands down prefer all-in-ones on my son. Last fall I reviewed a fabulous all-in-one from Winning Colors Baby. (I also reviewed a diaper cover.) Because I absolutely loved the semi-custom Halloween-themed all-in-one, I eagerly accepted the opportunity to review a new style all-in-one from the WAHM cloth diaper shop.

About Winning Colors Baby

Located in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Winning Colors Baby offers custom creations including cloth diapers, clothing, and accessories for your little winner. Shop owner and WAHM Lindsey makes all-in-ones, all-in-twos, and covers including semi-custom diaper in the fabric of your choice. Lindsey takes pride in offering a semi-custom product for everyone. Some of her options include snap color choices and inner fabric choices (microfleece or suedecloth). She also hopes to soon include a natural bamboo jersey option for babies who are sensitive to synthetic materials. She loves working on custom orders and helping clients create personalized, one-of-a-kind products that cannot be purchased anywhere else.  Learn more about Winning Colors Baby on Facebook and HyenaCart.

Price

Semi-custom diapers from Winning Colors Baby range in price from $14 to $31. All-in-ones and all-in-twos cost $8 more than covers. One-size diapers cost $4 more than sized diapers. Newborn diapers cost $2 less. Inner preference, front rise snaps, and print choice also raise and lower the price. I received a new style one-size all-in-one with front snaps that retails for $28. Compared to other WAHM diapers, I consider the semi-custom diapers from Winning Colors Baby reasonably priced. I also consider Winning Colors Baby affordable compared to name brand all-in-ones with a similar insert style. I rate the pricing extremely highly.

Materials and Construction

My new style all-in-one from Winning Colors Baby consists of a PUL exterior with a suedecloth interior. The semi-attached soaker system consists of super heavy bamboo fleece, a cotton velour top, and a hidden absorbent non-microfiber core in each petal. The two petals of the soaker system are sewn onto the front and back of the diaper and additionally snap in. I personally prefer to leave the petals unsnapped during use to make tossing the all-in-one into the washing machine easier (I am super lazy in the laundry room), but the snaps help keep the absorbent petals in place.

Winning Colors Baby almost always sells the new style all-in-one as a semi-custom, made-to-order diaper, offering options to the customer including gender preference for snap colors; inner lining fabric of suedecloth, microfleece, or bamboo jersey; and optional embroidery options. The bamboo jersey, which costs slightly more, provides an alternative for children with a sensitivity to synthetic materials. I received an adorable blue camo print with blue snaps.

The new style all-in-one also comes in both front snapping one-size and side snapping sized options. I received a front snapping one-size, which features three rows of three rise snaps on the torso, ten tops snaps and six bottom snaps on the waist, two top and one bottom hip snap, and crossover snaps. Winning Colors Baby recommends the one-size all-in-one for babies between 10 and 30 pounds depending on shape and body type. Both my 17 pounds son and 30 pound daughter fit into the diaper comfortably with room to grow.

Looking at the construction of the diaper, I find even stitching that I consider extremely professional. As with the previous diapers that I reviewed, if I did not know that Winning Colors Baby was a WAHM shop, I would believe that my diaper were commercially sewn. I am again impressed with the overall design and construction of this all-in-one.

Laundering

As I often reiterate, I am pretty lazy in the laundry room. I therefore require a cloth diaper that fits into my current cloth diaper laundry routine, and my new style all-in-one from Winning Colors Baby fits in perfectly! On laundry day, I toss my wet bag full of dirty diapers including my Winning Colors Baby new style all-in-one in my washing machine for a warm heavy wash with some detergent and OxiClean followed by two cold rinses. I then allow the clean diaper to air dry in a front of fan on my drying rack. The semi-attached design of the soaker on the diaper means that I can allow this all-in-one to air dry completely overnight without the use of my dryer. I therefore rate the new style all-in-one from Winning Colors Baby very highly in terms of ease of washing and drying.

Performance

Although she no longer wears diapers during the day, my preschooler daughter at 30 pounds wears the new style all-in-one from Winning Colors Baby on the large rise setting with three sets of waist snaps exposed. She is fairly slender, so thinner children can definitely wear this all-in-one past the recommended 30 pounds. At seven months and 17 pounds, my infant son wears the diaper on the medium rise setting with one set of waist snaps exposed. He could definitely have worn this all-in-one at a smaller weight, especially because of the cross-over snaps that offer an even snugger fit for smaller babies.

I consider my son is a fairly heavy wetter. Because he also hates feeling wet (unlike my daughter who never cared), I have to change him every two to four hours during the day. The new style all-in-one from Winning Colors Baby works on him for around four hours each use. He has leaked only once in the diaper because he fell to sleep, and I was not about to wake a sleeping baby just to change his diaper! The cotton velour top of the inserts also does not irritate him when wet. I rate this all-in-one extremely highly in terms of containing wetness.

The new style all-in-one from Winning Colors Baby also works great at containing solid messes. My son just started solids after six months of exclusively breastfeeding. Because he eats only a few bites of food each day at the moment, he is at that point between liquid EBF and solid food poop. This diaper effectively contains all consistencies of poop. In fact, I was incredibly impressed when I discovered the horrible mess with which my son christened the diaper. I thus rate this diaper extremely highly in terms of containing solid messes.

Overall I am incredibly pleased with the performance of the new style all-in-one from Winning Colors Baby.

Final Verdict

I absolutely love the new style all-in-one from Winning Colors Baby! For a semi-custom diaper, I consider the price extremely reasonable. The materials and construction of the diaper are comparable to commercially produced diapers. I particularly like the new semi-attached insert design, which makes washing and drying the all-in-one easier and faster. The diaper also effectively contains both wetness and solid messes. If you are a fan of semi-custom all-in-one cloth diapers, I highly recommend checking out Winning Colors Baby.
