Winning Colors Baby All-in-One Cloth Diaper Review

Winning Colors Baby All-in-One Cloth Diaper Review

Although I am definitely a fan of all-in-twos and covers with various inserts, I have recently made the journey into the world of all-in-one cloth diapers with much success. I am also a huge fan of the Halloween holiday. Thus, when Winning Colors Baby recently offered me a chance to review a semi-custom Halloween-themed all-in-one, I accepted the opportunity with gusto!

About Winning Colors Baby

Located in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Winning Colors Baby offers custom creations including cloth diapers, clothing, and accessories for your little winner. Shop owner and WAHM Lindsey McGovern makes all-in-ones, all-in-twos, and covers including semi-custom diaper in the fabric of your choice. Lindsey takes pride in offering a semi-custom product for everyone. Some of her options include snap color choices and inner fabric choices (microfleece or suedecloth). She also hopes to soon include a natural bamboo jersey option for babies who are sensitive to synthetic materials. She loves working on custom orders and helping clients create personalized, one-of-a-kind products that cannot be purchased anywhere else.  Learn more about Winning Colors Baby on Facebook and HyenaCart.

Price

Semi-custom diapers from Winning Colors Baby range in price from $20 to $30. Covers cost $5 less than all-in-ones and all-in-twos. One-size diapers cost $5 more than sized diapers. I received a large all-in-one with side snaps that retails for $30. Compared to similar semi-custom cloth diaper WAHM shops, I consider the diapers from Winning Colors Baby reasonably priced. Compared to name brand all-in-ones, Winning Colors Baby diapers retail for only slightly more, and you get a semi-custom design! I therefore rate the pricing very highly.

Materials and Construction

I reviewed an adorable all-in-one diaper from Winning Colors Baby. The exterior of the large sized diaper features both black and orange/white chevron PUL with a Jack o’ lantern appliqué on the bum and side snaps. The interior soaker of the all-in-one consists of a mix of bamboo fleece and Zorb covered with microfleece. (All-in-two soakers features the same mix of bamboo and Zorb covered with cotton velour.)

Looking at the construction of the diaper, I find even stitching that I consider extremely professional. In fact, if I did not know that Winning Colors Baby was a WAHM shop, I would believe that my diaper were commercially sewn. I am definitely impressed with the overall design and construction of this all-in-one.

Laundering

Because I am pretty lazy in the laundry room, I require a cloth diaper that fits into my current cloth diaper laundry routine, and my all-in-one from Winning Colors Baby fits in perfectly! On laundry day, I toss my diaper pail full of dirty diapers including my Winning Colors Baby all-in-one in my washing machine for a warm heavy wash with some Rockin’ Green and OxiClean followed by two cold rinses. I then allow the clean diaper to air dry in a front of fan on my drying rack. Because of the design of the soaker on the diaper, I do always also toss the dry diaper in my dry for 10 to 20 minutes to zap any remaining moisture. I again rate my all-in-one from Winning Colors Baby very highly in terms of ease of washing and drying.

Performance

My toddler daughter weighs roughly twenty-eight pounds at the moment, and the large all-in-one from Winning Colors Baby fits her perfectly while offering some room to grow. Around the waist, the diaper offers two rows of three snaps. My daughter currently wears the diaper on the further snaps in on one side and the middle snaps on the other, meaning that she has three more snaps into which to grow. Around the legs, my all-in-one from Winning Colors Baby fits my daughter snugly but not too tight. I can see room for growth in the crotch area — but not so much that gaping occurs causing leaks. I am confident that the large size will continue to fit my daughter for many more months.

On the first day that my daughter wore her all-in-one from Winning Colors Baby, my family and I were out and about doing some fun fall family activities together. Because of all the excitement, I completely forgot to change my daughter for seven hours! However, I am happy to announce that the diaper did not leak at all. With more typical use, my Winning Colors Baby all-in-one lasts two to four hours before leaking depending on the amount that my daughter drinks. In other words, the all-in-one from Winning Colors Baby performs similarly to the other all-in-ones in my stash in terms of length of time before complete saturation and leaking. The diaper also effectively contains solids without any issues.

Although my daughter is not a super soaker, I have found that I can easily add an additional soaker inside my Winning Colors Baby all-in-one to increase the absorbency. When I know that my daughter will be super active or in the same diaper for longer than usual such as on weekends when my family and I head out on adventures together, I lay an extra insert on top of the sewn-in soaker pad. The leg elastic remains snug while the additional inserts offers a boost of protection against leaks. Winning Colors Baby offers all-in-two soakers (as described above) for $10.00 each.

All in all, I am extremely pleased with the performance of my all-in-one from Winning Colors Baby. I will also add that my daughter loves her pumpkin bum diaper. High praise indeed from a very opinionated little girl!

Final Verdict

If you are a fan of semi-custom cloth diapers, I highly recommend checking out Winning Colors Baby. Both my daughter and I absolutely adore the semi-custom Jack o’ lantern all-in-one that I received to review. For semi-custom diapers, I consider the price of the diaper extremely reasonable. The materials and construction of the diaper are comparable to commercially produced diapers, meaning that I could not tell my Winning Colors Baby all-in-one came from a WAHM shop had I not known the diaper was handmade. Laundering the diaper fits perfectly into my current wash routine, and the diaper performs above and beyond my expectations for an all-in-one. My daughter and I give the all-in-one from Winning Colors four enthusiastic thumbs up!
