F Is for Flamingo Handprint Craft

Make a letter Fhandprint craft with handprints and fingerprints using nontoxic paint.

Materials

  • Pink and red nontoxic paint
  • Blank paper
  • Paper plate or scrap cardboard
  • Cotton balls
  • Cotton swab or paintbrush

Instructions

  • Pour some pink paint onto the cardboard.
  • Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of pink paint on your child's hand.
  • Press the pink handprint into the center of the paper with the fingers and thumb together and pointing to the side.
  • Wash the paint off your child's hand.
  • Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of pink paint on your child's finger.
  • Press the fingerprint onto the paper pointing up from the palm of the handprint.
  • Wash the paint off your child's finger.
  • Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of pink paint on your child's fingertip.
  • Press the fingertip print to the side of the pink fingerprint.
  • Wash the paint off your child's finger.
  • Pour some red paint onto the cardboard.
  • Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of red paint on your child's fingertip.
  • Press one small red fingertip print next to the pink fingertip print.
  • Wash the paint off your child's fingertip.
  • Use a paintbrush to paint a red eye in the center of the pink fingerprint and two red legs under the pink handprint.
  • Use a paintbrush to paint "F is for flamingo" in red on the paper.
