The special centers on a gigantic T-Rex that awakens beneath the city, creating chaos for its young drivers. The story combines dinosaur danger with the racing stunts and colorful vehicles that have made Hot Wheels popular with children.
The October release gives families a new seasonal option as Halloween approaches. Its blend of monsters, racing and comedy is aimed at young viewers who enjoy action-packed animated adventures.
Plot, Characters and Production Details
In Attack of the T-Rex, the racers must confront a massive dinosaur threatening Hot Wheels City. The adventure challenges them to use their driving skills, teamwork and creativity to face the prehistoric menace.
The special continues the world of Hot Wheels: Let’s Race, Netflix’s animated series based on Mattel’s iconic toy-car brand. The show follows young racers as they take on challenges at the Hot Wheels Ultimate Garage Racing Camp, where competition and friendship go hand in hand.
The special expands the series with a Halloween adventure built around a giant T-Rex. The production combines familiar characters with a larger-scale threat, giving fans another story beyond the regular racing challenges.
What Makes This Special Different—and What Is Hot Wheels City?
Unlike a typical episode focused on racing competitions, Attack of the T-Rex introduces a monster-movie element, turning the racers’ home turf into a dinosaur-filled adventure. The Halloween setting adds a seasonal twist while preserving the franchise’s emphasis on speed, stunts and teamwork.
Hot Wheels City is a fictional world inspired by the brand’s toy playsets, featuring elaborate tracks, garages, loops and imaginative obstacles. It provides a setting where ordinary races can become extraordinary adventures, including encounters with oversized creatures and other hazards.
The special is scheduled to arrive on Netflix October 20. Families can look forward to a fast-paced Halloween watch that brings the excitement of Hot Wheels toys to the screen, though parents may want to consider whether dinosaur peril is appropriate for younger or more sensitive children.
