A woman left feeling frightened after visiting Walmart on a weekday. Katie, who posts on TikTok as @katiechik, shared an “extremely scary” experience she had at 11 a.m. at the department store.
She described being followed by a man when she went to return a couple of things and to buy her daughter a pair of shoes for a family photo.
“This was very scary, and I’m very thankful that it was taken seriously,” she captioned her post.
Katie Recalled Being Followed By a Man ‘Ten Years Older’ Than Her
She recalled the man walking very slowly and “very pointedly” looking at her while she was in the women’s clothing section at Walmart.
“I was looking at a couple of things. I kept seeing this man, like, maybe ten years older than me at max,” she said.
Katie explained that the man’s presence bothered her, since the Walmart she went to had women’s and children’s clothing sections together, while the men’s clothing section was on the other side.
“There’s not really a reason for him to be over in the women and children’s clothing unless he was looking at women or children’s clothing, which I’m not saying that he can’t, but he wasn’t,” she explained.
Meanwhile, after Katie noticed the man kept circling her, she admitted she made “eye contact with him” and gave him a “really dirty look,” which prompted him to smile back.
Katie Revealed She Phoned Her Husband After Being Followed By a Stranger
Katie said in the video that the man was there while she was trying to find her daughter’s shoe size in the Walmart aisle.
“I go somewhere else in the store, and he follows me. And he is, like, following me all over the store, and he’s not trying to hide it,” Katie explained.
She also revealed that she called her husband and told him that a stranger was following her in the Walmart.
“I call my husband, and I’m like, ‘Hey, somebody is following me through Walmart. Like, I just want you to stay on the phone with me,’” she added in the video.
Later in the video, she said she found the stranger standing “two or three feet away from” her while she went to the self-checkout line.
Katie Detailed Going Up To a Self-Checkout Worker After Feeling ‘Something Bad is Going To Happen’
Katie also admitted fearing that something bad might happen to her after she saw the same man at the checkout.
“This man is, like, waiting for me to leave, and something bad is going to happen,” she said.
She revealed that she went up to a self-checkout worker and told him a man was following her.
Meanwhile, Katie said Walmart called their undercover people and took the incident “very, very seriously.” She explained they took her to identify the stranger and let her look at the cameras.
